I think the drinking age should be raised to 25. Agree or disagree?

I remember being a teenager, and just DYING to turn 21. At around 18, I vehemently disliked that the drinking age is 21. I thought to myself, "how are you gonna tell me that I am a legal adult, BUT I can't buy a beer? WTF kind of bullshit is that? Now, I am approaching 35 years old, and my perspective has flipped 180 degrees. Not only do fully understand why someone would want the drinking age 21+, I am actually leaning towards advocating for it to be even older. 18 year olds should not be allowed to legally drink. Period. A 21 year old is honestly not much better. I consider them in the same age group. I see the way people in their early 20's behave all the time, and I am just like, wow... it's ridiculous that we allow people this age range to have access to liquor. I'm sorry, but 18-21 is a KID, and no one will ever convince me otherwise.

As time goes on drinking is going away like smoking.

While vaping is in a revitalizing stage from smoking, I don't see a same marketing adventure then reventure for alcohol any time soon.

Maybe if a tide pod like alcohol thing was popular would warrant such a law.

Here in the UK Its 18 to buy alcohol at 18. At 16 you can drink it in a restaurant with a meal. And at FIVE your legally allowed to drink it at home or on private land.

Personally i think you should need a licence to buy alcohol. That way it could be revoked if people became alcoholics or broke the law under influence. It wouldn't stop all problems but it would be a big step in the right direction

I just saw on the news last week about a whiskey maker from Kentucky or Tennessee that was closing down some of their operation as sales have dropped dramatically.

At my restaurant/bar we've seen a huge drop on the drinking. At one time we had a full bar almost from open until a 3am close. Now generally we are pretty empty before midnight after the dinner hours end.

Here in Germany it’s 16 for beer and wine, 18 for hard liquor. People just try alcohol at a younger age and by the time they are young adults, they are already finished with experimenting. This weird mystification of alcohol that American kids do, doesn’t happen here. The whole criminalizing and prosecuting of kids caught with a fake ID is completely unnecessary.

Im a pioneer and I think it should be 18. Maybe 16. Like in the uk you can have sex, have a baby, leave school, join the military, work a job etc at 16 start an only fans or be in porn at 18, drive at 17. So if you can do all that by 18 why raise the age of alcohol to 25 rather than keep it at 18? All these age restrictions do is retard young adults development and keep them living at home until age 30.
