If another country attacked the US and kidnapped our President and his wife (excluding Trump of course)), how would you feel about this?

What would you want our country to do about this? I recognize that a lot of this might depend on the popularity of the President, but putting that aside, just in general, what would you want the U. S. to do about our President and his spouse being kidnapped?

To be honest though, if I don't like the president, say Biden, and England kidnapped him and held him ransom, I'd say keep him for a while... he's really not needed. If it was Somali pirates that got say, Kamala Harris, it be awful. I'd be quite concerned and it's so wrong, they just want money. Trump is trying to fix a gigantic mess not just for USA but for Venezuela. That's more than money.

enforcement of rule of law is a good thing. the prior govt (Biden) put a bounty on maduro, he was illegal, noone accepted his win that I know of. trump basically served a warrant, in effect, and the only one with courage to do so... a huge gamble and it worked.

ya don't want that happening a lot, but as well, it is way better than a 6 month+ engagement costing many lives, extending into a guerilla war in Venezuala. F that!

Now flip that around and imagine pre WWII England went in and took out the national socialist Hitler by special military operation, arrested him for all the various crimes... like disbanding the government, taking out so many germans, etc.. and put him back in jail for good... cause he was in there before when he wrote a book. Could have saved millions of lives. Maybe...

It's a double edge ugly sword that looks ok based upon the situation and awful at others.

Now if China goes into Taiwan and kidnaps the president, they will get 200% tariffs. not good.

If it was one of the previous presidents back when America was run by an adult, I'd be shocked and baffled any other country thinks they can just make those kinds of decisions to overthrow another country.

Yeah, I just worry that if the country that took him hadn't been warned by us ahead of time, they might think of it as being an act of war on our part. I think we might want to say something like, "We know your planning to take him, and while we'd really like you to do that, we also want to warn you that you'll probably regret doing it even more than we would regret keeping him".

Yes bombs. Bombs don't win wars. Only boots on the ground actually hold territory and win wars. Even reasonably good second-generation air defense systems make dropping bombs very risky. The US had all kinds of modern technology in Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq, and in each one of those situations, we were summarily kicked out of those countries by local forces using very primitive equipment, particularly in Vietnam and Afghanistan. The whole emphasis on technology is promulgated by the US defense industry, which would like everyone to believe that the more money you spend on war equipment, the better it is. That turns out not to be true, but we've never learned that lesson along with many other important lessons.
