Every ugly word is first made to shock, offense but what happens over time is that it gets mainstream and so then they have to make up new ugly words to try to get the same reaction as before but that word too gets to be mainstream, now people even using it for something good which really must put the one who did not want it that way, off. I just loves when this happens, like you, B... !!! answer oh, you shouldn't, you're so sweet, thank you (for that empowering complimenary description of little ol me). Somehow this makes me think evil doesn't win, it gets twisted to something good instead by the mainstream people doing it without thinking about it. I can't help but like that. The irony.

The meaning of bitch has changed throughout the years. You should look up it's history. No, it's not a gender slur, it's a personality insult. A guy can be a bitch too, it's just a term generally used more often for a woman.

Even men get called bitch from time to time too, and I've called a guy that myself. Are we going to outlaw calling men dickheads, douche, asshole, etc? It's a non-issue for me. Women don't need any more special treatment.
