No, i generally don’t support military conflict of any kind; least of all for economic gains. Additionally, Denmark is an ally and the inuit people don’t seem to be protesting their leadership.
However, the one and only military base on the island is owned and operated by the US military. Otherwise, Denmark and Greenland are wholly unprepared to defend the island from invasion by China, which has publicly asserted designs on the arctic circle, or any other foreign invaders. If there is a hostile attempt, the US would be well within their rights to occupy the island for defensive purposes.
What is most likely happening is Drumpf is laying the groundwork for Greenland to favor the US in trade negotiations in exchange for military support in the event of an invasion or attempt.
Contrary to what many of the clowns on the right will suggest, the US doesn’t give a runny sh*t about democracy. 100% of our foreign conflicts since WW2 have been about wealth and power. I like to remind them that when Egypt was fighting for democracy, the US didn’t lift a finger. Egypt IS an ally, just not one with a great deal of wealth or power to offer those who might intervene to ensure democracy takes a foothold. Egypt did achieve democracy for a short period. The US also did nothing when a military coup crushed democracy and established a strict authoritarian regime that holds power to this day.
The US military is NOT in the business of spreading or protecting democracy. They’re in the business of spreading and protecting capitalism; namely central banks and multinational corporations. Anyone who suggests otherwise is an idiot or completely full of sh*t.

I don't WANT it to happen, but I'm also not exactly going to be complaining if it does happen. It would be very good for helping our country recover from an unfavorable position economically.

I also think that as we've slowed down our imperialism, China is accelerating their imperialism at a scary rate and I'm not a big fan of the too "big to run" strategy I feel like we're harping on right now.

Greenlanders have a pretty good like. Low taxes, free healthcare, free education and zero ilegal immigration. Start shipping muslims to green land and they will want to become part of the US.

I don't see sufficient justification to take by force. That would take some convincing.

I suspect that is used as a lever to get control of it by other means.

we used to buy property... like Alaska and Louisiana. we got a great deal on that for $1. Same could happen here.

Why the fuck do you think it'd HAVE to be by force? Most of Greenland WANTS to become part of America!! Doing it by force would be utterly stupid!! At worst, it can be divided into two halves and those that don't want to join us can live in one half and the rest can live in the other half!

We should disincentivize Greenland from giving access to Russia and China for their natural resources. If we don't cooperate, they are disloyal to NATO and we should move on them. It would take less time, equipment and manpower than it took to arrest Maduro. And Denmark cannot fight its way out of a wet paper bag, so we're not going to have any problem with them.

USA is already permitted to have bases there and US companies can apply for mining permits but are not too willing to and they can fish just outside the EEZ.
