Feigning civilian status and then carrying out an attack with explicit intent to kill or wound the target is known as “perfidy” under the law of armed conflict, a war crime, according to legal experts.

Of course it could get worse and it will. Trump has openly admitted the only thing stopping him doing anything is his own personal morality. American law, international law, neither mean Jack shit to him. The world is at the mercy of the morality of a convicted felon and sexual predator. There's absolutely nothing stopping him ordering a strike on your home because he feels like it.

The details are rather light on aren't they? Nothing but speculation as to what type of air craft it was. Boeing 737's are used for military purposes and are painted differently.

The reports contain little in the way of facts. A lot is built on very little.

Even if a military Boeing 737 was painted in the livery of an airline how does that disadvantage drug boats?

The US is keeping the make and model of the plane a secret, according to the article. I don't think the make and model would make that much difference because when the plane's in the air, it's hard to identify what it is. Even if the people in the boat could identify it, so what? I don't think that makes any difference either. A boat against a missile-carrying plane is no contest.

If too high you wouldn't know what it was. If just above the surface you wouldn't able focus as it whizzed past. F35's have internal weapons bay - so they are perfidy?

it is to be expected that military air craft based on airliners would have some minimum defense capability. If the secret plane is airliner based. Military aircraft mostly look not civilian.

As you say, it wouldn't people in the boat as airplanes go faster. Agree.

For example, we don't know how many people have died in his concentration camps yet (we know of 40, last I heard), or how many disappeared between being kidnapped and processed.

there's been a whole lot of debate in media about these things being "legal or illegal" but the fact is that, clandestine actions are apart from the laws of war
