You can't sell the idea that Biden also deported illegals is you've pounding out the idea for months that Biden let IN 20 million illegals. @lightbulb27 As to the number of rigs, it's quite easy to look up. As for the oil part, you, like most people, don't seem to understand what happened to the oil when the US was producing record numbers of barrels.

The US oil refining capacity in 2024 was 18.4 million barrels a day.
It was the same in 2025 -- 18.4 million barrels per day.
It is slightly less today because 3 refineries have shut down, but the demand is around 20.4 million barrels per day.

In 2024 when production was peaking, the daily AVERAGE was 22.85 Million barrels per day, but refining capacity was still ONLY 18.4 Million barrels per day. So where do you think all that extra oil went to on a daily basis --- it got SOLD to other countries by the oil companies. NONE OF the extra went back to US refineries, not ONE DROP.

Because not ALL of the oil the US produced every day was light sweet crude, the primary oil used for making gasoline because it has a low sulfur content and is easier to refine. It cost LESS to buy it from OPEC and refine it than it does to refine heavy oil, which is used for products like asphalt. That is, it's cheaper until Trump sticks his face where it doesn't belong and tries to outsmart OPEC, like he did in 2018, creating higher prices and leaving Biden with a huge problem.

So when people see "record oil production in the USA" and "energy independence", they get all crazy and think their energy prices and gas are going to plummet. Sorry kids, that's not how it works.
