I vaguely remember this. I believe he's talking about taking guns from people with mental issues. Like people on anti psychotic and such. Trump believes in background checks and minimal mental screenings. And I'd say with how he does most other things it tracks that his mentality would be to enforce legislation aimed at taking guns from people identified as incompetent and worrying about legal technicalities and acceptions to the rules later.

Trump has done a lot for gun owners including the administrations part in bruen decision which says any gun law must be consistent with the history and traditions of the country at the time the founding fathers were alive (which even I think is a little extreme 😂)

The courts are expected to make rifle bans illegal soon, magazine bans are pretty much out, open carry reciprocity across the country is on the table right now and being supported by the doj and many states. Major battles that so far are going in gun owners favor right now.

they did have this in place a little while back. they were still screening you. most psychotic people should probably not have guns. but if i support that, then i'm dooming myself because i'd be next. any mental health problems (anxiety), would be next on the list. i'm sure the goal would to be to take away all of the guns before we fight back. that'll never happen, and he can't go against the only base he has left.

Most towns where I live will confiscate the guns from people involved in domestic disputes and other skirmishes. In Lewiston Maine the Army had the option of taking guns away from a mental patient. Thry failed to do so and people were killed.
