All I can come up with is that they needed women ICE agents. Over a hundred thousand applied for 20 thousand positions it's not like they did not have enough applicants. They mostly wanted Law Enforcement from other agencies or military veterans so they is that as well.

What you came "up with" doesn't excuse weak vetting for these serious Federal law enforcement positions. If proper vetting was done, she should have been eliminated after the first series of background checks and drug tests. Having so many applicants is no excuse for crappy vetting. These people have the power of life and death. Many of them wouldn't even make it as cops... obviously. Congress just handed over billions of dollars to boost the numbers to form posses to go get the "illegals." This is the US, not the wild, wild West...

I am a little surprised at this too. I knew a couple of cops that became Federal Agents and it was a, tough process. Maybe there were time constraints and it was rushed.
