No. These artifacts were largely ignored by modern day Egyptians who saw them as non Islamic. The only interest they had in them was selling them to the west. Egyptians don't see them as part of their heritage.

The Egyptians themselves. The truth is most of it survived so long because they wouldn't touch it. Wasn't until Europeans wanted to buy it did they even take an interest.
