At first I thought it was fake, but had AI made that mistake the creator would have spotted it. I concluded regardless of fake or real, it must be normal heat cams of pop on BBQs.
So is this an American or Canadian thing?

The results of my visual investigation, as a Canadian:

People in the US still accidentally kill themselves every year by running gas heaters and generators in the homes, or trying to heat their homes with a gas oven. So there’s no way that there is nobody in the USA dumb enough to do this. If that particular venn diagram doesn’t have 100% overlap, it’s probably pretty close.
However there are obvious signs that this was created using AI. Do with that what you will.
I live in the USA and I travel a lot around North America, besides the rest of the world.
I have never seen anything like that here or in other parts of the world.
I'm not aware of any such thing.
That photo is a first, if any.
We warm up cans of beer or soda that way when we go ice fishing or snowmobiling or something (Which I don't do often 'cuz it's friggen cold out) just to keep them from going all slushy.
Wow, be careful they don’t explode! Do you crack them open first?
@ponderingpaul We have had that happen once or twice! 🤣 But usually we don't let them sit there very long.

No one heats cans of Mountain Dew. This is obvious AI fake. Those aren't sausages, they're hot dogs. And a woman should be kneeling to eat the sausage. 😎
She sure should, particularly my #blackboyjoy !!!
I am guessing the cans are frozen as they are un the snow and in a tent. They are thawing out the cans and hopefully take them off before they explode and become shrapnel. Camping isn’t just for the summer for some.
That's just dangerous. I hope people dont do this. so either its AI or some one put the cans on for a second took photo and removed them. I use to perform science experiments for kids to teach. I have heated up cans of pop on a fire as an experiment. They explode violently throwing hot sugar liquid all over the place. Didn't use that one Not smart
I think Americans are more risk taking than Canadians. After all Canadians are scared of being thought to be impolite.
The burst pressure of drink cans is about 12 atmospheres. Do we have any footage of the 3rd degree burns?
That’s not an American thing or anybody else’s thing because they will explode immediately and burst out of the can. If you put them on the fire, those belong in the cooler or refrigerator
Its tough to say. The food says American but we Canadians do tend to bbq in the winter (i have done it before and im not white) so my only conclusion to this confusion is that this must be Russia
Never heard of it Miz Pop! Maybe warming up the sodas during cold weather. Sounds bona fide odd. I'm in the South. No cold drink BBQ here, but also no ice fishing, snow camping!
As far as I know, it's not an American thing. Of course, I haven't traveled all over the country to know for sure but I've never heard of this being a thing here.
Must be Canadian because I've never seen any of OUR rednecks doing this
hahaha
I love the answers , but not surprising.
Irony.
Being as it is Canada, it is larger those mountain dew cans were frozen and they had to thaw them out just to drink them.
Oof, I cringed at those cans on the damn grill.. And the woman attempting to eat the damn hotdog.. Lmao..
Seems to me that unless it was opened the steam would make it explode. 😯
Definitely an American thing, but only observed in MAGA communities.
Uhhh, I never seen that for any reason other than to run away and watch it explode
I am a Canadian & we although BBQ all winter long. I have never ever seen that up here. It must be something they do south of the border.
I was reading through the comments & @RandomGirl42 admits to doing it in the US. Besides most people I know that BBQ or cook on an open fire don't do pop in the winter
Definitely not an American thing. I have never seen it at least.
Reads Canadian, but it's the first I've heard of it.
I never heard of such a stupid thing! Why would anybody do that?
I've been to more white trash BBQs than you can count and I've never seen this done, but this is also Southern California
WTAF? I'm in the 🥶 northeast and that doesn't happen in NY
Canadian, it gets too warm in the states. Though I suppose it could be an Alaskan thing. However, the people in the photo look Russian to me.
um... probably because this is ai... the creator is an idiot.
Possibly they were frozen. But still not a great idea!
I make beer can chicken on my BBQ but I've never heard of Pop on the BBQ, I'm from Canada.
Canadians would be drinking beer.
LOL, I have never heard of this.
Looks like AI to me
Never heard of that, from New York!
I didn't know this exists 😂
I think it a I. Cuz the pop would explode
Looks fake
Fake news...
That is AI
This is AI
