Another age old debate. It's definitely called soda where I'm from. But I've also been down south a few times to "popville" lol. I can't remember what they were calling it in Cali when I visited.
Only rednecks from the Midwest call it "Pop." Same thing with rednecks from the south calling literally all sodas "Coke," even Pepsi and Mountain Dew. Not that I even drink soda too often; it's VERY bad for you! I prefer orange juice, apple juice, or lemonade to Pepsi or Coca Cola.
I call it "Soda," or at worst "Soda Pop," cause I'm not an illiterate redneck from Indiana. 😂

I was raised in Northern US and we called it "pop", sometimes "soda pop". I've moved but I still tend to call it "pop".
Over here in South MS we call it “drank”. I just call it soda when i type it out online because most assume drank is alcohol. But like if you go to anyones house, they offer you some “drank” which could be any Coke or Pepsi product. If its juice or tea, we just say juice or tea
It's pop here. The only exception I can think of is cream soda but we still call it pop.
Bottle of pop sounds right but bottle of soda sounds disjointed

When I lived around Pittsburgh PA I called it pop. That was the word around there. When I moved to Harrisburg Pa I started calling it soda. That's what they say here. Same state, but separated by mountains.
Honestly I have heard pop, soda, soda-pop, coke, and cola. Drank is a new one I’ve never heard of but I have only been in the south twice and neither times did I really get to interact with locals. But I have been all across the norther line. I personally call it soda but I think that is particular to my location. I’m in the New England corner.
I call it Pop.
Soda is fizzy water.
if in a bar, would ask what soft drinks they have.
I call it the name of the thing that it is.
I dont really drink it so I actually dont remember what I authentically used to call those drinks anymore, maybe fizzy drinks?
I might say pop now if were going to use a catch all term but that is extremely unlikely.
No point in using extra words for no reason. Therefore I call the drink by it's name. Fanta is just Fanta. Pepsi is Pepsi.

Yes, both at the same time: sodapop. And sometimes a carbonated drink.
In some parts of Texas, it's a coke, like in "Bring me a coke" "What kind?" "A Dr Pepper!"Here we call it soda, pop and sometimes soda pop

Neither. I call it what it is. So I say Dr pepper or coke or Pepsi. 🤷🏽
Pop. Soda is seen as an American term where I live, and most of us use "pop".

Neither, we called it soda pop, or just plain sody.
Soda makes more sense because the containers don’t “pop” anymore.
