Why do people who don’t even have children still have no money?

I think a lot of people don't realize how much kids replace other things. If I had kids I wouldn't go out as much as I do. I probably spend $150 a week going out. Which is nothing compared to friends but that's kinda more on going out than my parents spent on me as a kid.

Don't get me wrong. Parents definitely stretch their dollars but the lifestyle of not having a kid isn't exactly comparable.

If you have a kid, you're not going out you'd be a loser. But if you don't have a kid and you don't go out you'd probably kill yourself lol. Please nobody do that I'm being dramatic.

Honestly the fact I even had to say that kinda sums up how I feel about this topic.

Use your head a little. If you're not making any money, you probably shouldn't have any kids. And when you do make money, that's probably a better time to have kids. There's obviously a correlation between the two because they're literally related.

And there's nothing wrong with trying to figure your life out before having kids. It's the smarter thing to do, so when you do actually have a family, you're not limiting them financially.

Even people with high paying jobs still whine about things being expensive. All I'm saying is that it should be a lot easier to afford things when you don't have children

Them having no children does not make anything more affordable. You have a really narrow view.

The anonymous sounds like a woman who hasn’t had much experience out in the real, adult world. Most likely hasn’t had to worry much about finances or her own expenses (shout out to her mom, dad or both!). There’s no other way she could/should feel comfortable calling someone a whiner for not being able to afford “things” in this crazy economy. Then again she’s anon, so she knows what this topic would look like and yet still decided to ask, so long as she could hide while doing so. Quite sad.

Not much. I own my apartment outright. All i pretty much buy is oil, gas, electricity and food. I still have a bit of money left over for things i want to buy but i would have to save

Childless aside. Bills and food are a racking up in prices and homes and rents are not easy to maintain. A lot of it could be people’s obsession to material possessions that may not sustain their income and even income alone may not sustain the basic needs
