What’s something you don’t hear often enough that you wish people would say to you or recognize about you?

"I need you" or "are you ok". And I don't mean, "I need you to do something for me". Even though I'm always willing to help. My entire life has been about helping my loved ones (be that family or friends) however I can. And I don't want to say they don't care about me. I know they do. But this is the price of maintaining a stoic reserve. They cannot see when I'm breaking underneath. And as a man I cannot share it. I know I'll get through it (i always do). But it's been an exceptionally cold winter (and I'm not talking just about the temperature) I was invited to a Superbowl party Sunday. I really don't want to go. I most likely will. But I know I'm there primarily as a piece of furniture in their life. I'll smile, I'll tell a couple jokes, but inside I will feel a 1000 miles away from them. I'll return home when it's all over. Back to my reality and await for the next time I'm called to wear my mask for the world.

I wish i was told honestly and empathetically by an older bloke who understands the dilemma that a man of my generation is in with housing, government etc, pressures. that im a troubled, maybe not the sharpest tool in the shed young man, but i don't give up and have a lot of courage in the steps I've taken till this point and that life isn't always fair even if you get it right formulaically and that i have potential to do well if i pushed myself and stopped relying on other people. Just a core truth by an older man who doesn't judge me on hierarchy and what should be, but understands the human nature of being young, someone really who was very similar to me when he was young.

but something I would like to hear more is... "hey, I just made baked, homemade Cheetos... would you like to try some?"wouldn't that be just great... yes, yes it would, lol

Nothing really, I'm just some random dude, people don't owe me anything. I get the same rights and access to the same services as everyone else, I have a job. I pay taxes, I get to participate in the system, I can shop in stores eat in restaurants. What more can I expect?

hmm tricky one, as i feel like im ok with not needing any praise really. i mean its nice to hear from people i care about of course, but its not something i dwell too much on...

i suppose if i had to choose though, maybe that i write well... although many have told me that soo maybe that tank is still quite full lol.

I think I'm good. Sometimes it's hard for me to accept compliments. I appreciate the things people do a lot more. Even small things like a well timed smile or some relevant conversation.
