Trending & News The minimum was originally implemented to prevent employers from grossly underpaying their workers and take advantage of them. It was never intended to be a wage that someone could live off of.
The minimum wage should be low enough to encourage people to seek better paying jobs, not stay at the minimum wage job they have. Unfortunately, the minimum wage has turned into something that people can live off of, at least in liberal states.
My opinion, which I'm sure most will disagree with, is that the current US federal minimum wage of US$7.25 is too high, and should be lowered to US$6.50.
Sometimes in life put yourself in other people's shoes then you will see things in a different light..
But the the next thing you have to do is be honest with yourself
Then after your done playing with your self. Ask yourself if your a follower or a leader.
Oh wait then you have to be honest with yourself again
And then ask yourself , if you're right wrong or ignorant do you really know what you're talking about
I don't follow... All I know is that economically it's a very counterproductive thing to raise the minimum wage
Well, you're right in a lot of different ways. But look at what our government does with money goes everywhere, except for where it's supposed to go. People that are just starting out, they need more money. They need to make a better income and of course , they can do that by going to school learning something a trade , but there's some people that aren't capable of doing that , and they have to make more money
Okay, if you raise the minimum wage it raises the price of goods because the labor costs more to run things so it is counterproductive. Work more hours and do side gigs. That's the only way to ensure you aren't a lazy bum mooching tax dollars from the government. It's the same with welfare.
Yes, you're exactly, right, that's what happened. 4 years ago, minimum wage went up around here. All these corporations moved in everybody's pay junk from 12 to $15 an hour, all the way up to 30 bucks an hour, McDonald's. Employees started making 15 Bucks an hour. And after that, they did not want you to make money, they want you to be poor so of course, that's when everything went sky high. No I know that part of it. Is just sad that it has to be that way because the American dream is no more. They want you in debt, no matter how hard you work.

I live in one of the most expensive states to live in. Nobody works for minimum wage here which is $7.25/hour. When Chik Fil E opened in my town they advertised $22.00 an hour.
The same ones who claim tariffs will just get passed on to consumers.
When the price of labor goes up so does the price of goods.
I've never ever seen anybody earn a minimum wage...
Because there are just not many good jobs anymore , yes the Min wage should be raised to at least $10. These are about the only jobs that Trump will create.
They believe workers should be afford at least the necessities and don't suck rich folk's c**k or c**t!!!
If you raise the minimum wage it raises the cost of labor to produce goods therefore it does more bad than good for the economy
Not so, Awesome, at least in the shortterm.
Are you talking about the federal minimum wage?
I didn't hear about the federal minimum going up, just the Tennessee one
The federal minimum wage hasn’t gone up in 15 years. I've never heard of citizens being able to vote on statement and wages.
They are trying to pass a Tennessee bill that will raise the minimum wage from 7.25 to 20 dollars
$7.25 is what federal minimum wage is. That means your state hasn’t raised it in 15 years. Why don’t you want it raised?
Because if you raise the minimum wage above the current average wage in the state you impact the price of all good produced because labor costs more. It also pushes lower people up the corporate ladder that shouldn't be there like janitors making the same as a welder. It's bad for the economy in more ways than one
If $7.25 per hour, exceeds the average wage in Tennessee, then I feel sorry for the workers in Tennessee.
Who cares? Go for maximum wage!
