There is no such thing as the buzzword implies "AGI" to be, but the closest reality to it will be reached by whoever has the most advanced computers.
and it is not a company. Since all the western ai companies work for the US gov who strips the tax payers to enrich the companies.
So you should ask, which country has the fastest calculating computers?
And even then, it's all about how you implement the technology. Like goat herders can beat fat American tanks in the battle. similar shit. ㅤ
just tried gemini pro 3.1 and it fixed some really good shit no other model could. so yeah, i am also a fan of them especially that their team increased my daily limits higher than what a paid plan even provides, instead of banning me for stealing their resources.
there's one little problem though...
people nowadays tend to sell you the idea of AGI and others buy the idea of AGI... looking at AI
while AI could become twice, four, ten... even 20 times better in the future, it is still going to be AI, and not AGI
the AGI progress is still at ZERO...
there's nothing, absolutely NOTHING, no progress in AGI whatsoever... there's no human reasoning like the human brain does reasoning
and I do remember that "joke" all the time about how the brain named itself... THE BRAIN NAMED ITSELF, and that took millions of years
so... AGI would also have to create itself, at some point... we can't make it, AI can't make it either
I guess some Chinese one. US corporation rally too much on hardware performance while they hope software develops by itself ot some Indian guys which bought their software engineer diplomas in bulk package with aircraft engineer and surgery Medicine doctor for 3k USD, write perfect scripts for neural networks.

Since there is no way to define or measure such a thing, it'll be the first big company to claim they did it using whatever criteria they chose.
It'll probably be a consortium of some sort. A consortium of big players can create a de facto standard and market the standard with a nifty trade name. Then they'll charge everyone else to use the standard and the nifty name. Anyone who doesn't pay can't use the name and will be thought of as inferior, even though it's exactly the same thing without the name.
The race to Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) is intensely competitive, with Google and OpenAI considered top contenders.
the winner will likely be the organization that effectively balances advanced, safe innovation with sustainable, massive-scale compute infrastructure
Volvo.
And it's already done, or do you think this car is just a simple, soulless inanimate car? It is not.
It will most likely be some Chinese company. The Chinese are very good at copying technology. They will get all the AI software that's out there, combine it all, and refine it.
It will be some company like General Motors that invents it to increase their own productivity
Grok is a great AI. I am putting my vote to them. I use it a lot and it is very valuable.
The one who can create free energy.
Some company in France
Maybe Open AI or Grok.
Samsung probably.
Google or Nvidia I suppose.
TESLA/SPACEX
Elon loves innovation
