Either go back in time to correct a few things that would make things better for us in the long run or even make his present job a lot easier or go into the future to see how well his present policies have done and maybe change any that might've not done so well in the long run.

trump and most republicans ultimately want different things. republicans clearly felt this as we heard their statements before he was president and we hear the "leaked" statements from the likes of Ted Cruz, we see former MAGA republicans peeling slowly off (MGT, Mace, Massie, etc)

so if republicans had a time machine, i think they'd go back and try to unite as a party and avoid having trump become a face of their party

if trump had a time machine, he'd stash it in the bomb shelter, continue to milk the American government and taxpayers for money, then when the time comes go back in time and invest all his ill-gotten money

The US government is not run by Drumpf and republicans. Republicans hold a small majority, but there is much that they have been unable to accomplish because democrats are reflexively diametrically opposed to everything their counterparts are trying to achieve. This would not be the case if the republicans were wholly in charge.
Furthermore, the separation of powers designed by the founders is still very much intact. The current administration has been both faltered and bolstered by the SCOTUS.
It’s okay to not know what you’re talking about. It’s not okay to make such wildly ignorant statements as though they are factual. You can apply qualifiers like “I heard”, “I read”, “I think”, “some suggest”, “maybe”, “kind of”, or something of the like to keep from becoming one of those willfully ignorant knuckleheads who is more interested in spreading false narratives than actually learning anything.

US has one of the most poorly run governments in the world. Nobody is in charge. Way too many problems, but nobody is taking action to fix it. Nobody has the right priorities or values. These are the downsides to democracy. Way too many people arguing, no one is taking any action
