Milton Friedman is the guru of economics as far as the USA has been concerned. Here's what he had to say about illegal immigration:

So grasp this maga's -- so far, $12 BILLION dollars spent and lost in 2025, from your taxpayer money, going in great part to private companies who own detention centers and transportation companies who paid kickbacks to the President for contracts that never went out to bid. How else has he increased his personal wealth so quickly but for graft? Golf course revenues? LOL

Add to that the $66 BILLION dollars, give or take a few billion, that will not be collected in taxes, EVERY YEAR.
Add to that the farms that will go out of business and jobs lost because there are no field workers.
Add to that the factory closings and lost jobs in cities all over the USA.
Add to that the huge layoffs due to automation and "re-focusing" by companies like Amazon, UPS, Meta, Pinterest, Citibank, Tyson and more.

Nothing seems to get through to you all. This is one gigantic, fucking grift. THIS CORRUPT ADMINISTRATION is taking the money out of AMERICA like a private equity company takes money out of a corporation. You're falling for the immigration ruse because your racist hate makes you easy prey.

Yet, some unnamed idiot maga's on here are worried about a few Mexicali's getting a free phone, or claiming they're getting welfare benefits they're clearly not eligible for. Are you completely unable to understand the problem? It is ILLEGAL. What Friedman says here is completely irrelevant, and that's assuming he's even right. And some things he said in this video is absolutely NOT right.

Is the implication here that we should have open borders? Is he suggesting that we should not have laws? Is he suggesting that laws should not be enforced? The dude is dead so we can't ask him. But I can guarantee that he is NOT suggesting that.

It's called making a point. A very narrow point that is only a small part of a much larger picture. Are there benefits to illegals? Yes? Is that the only thing to consider? No. And that is what makes misinterpreting what he said so wrong. It's a very narrow point.

If he was a god, then he should have been a world dictator. Every country in the world has border controls, and every country in the world enforces them. Apparently, out of the thousands of people making the decisions around the world, not a single one of them is so great as the Friedman God. Apparently he knows more than all of them combined. Hmmm, and his point is that not only did the US benefit from these illegals, it knew that they were necessary for the economy. He stopped short of saying " Oh, let's stop pretending we really care about this".

Every corporation or company that you think is American as apple pie BENEFITTED from this. That's why it got kicked down the road for 80 years by every administration. The only real concern should be keeping out the truly "worst criminals", which the Trump administration has not done as only 40 have been deported at a cost of billions to the taxpayers while doing untold damage to local economies.

Also apparently, you are completely unable to read the Constitution. Antonin Scalia himself, who was a staunch Conservative "originalist" and believed in interpreting the Constitution as it was written by the founders, was clear about the protections afforded in the document.

Due process is afforded to EVERYONE on United States land. Period. Hard stop. Your problem with that is a you issue, not a Constitutional one. As for Friedman, there's no misinterpreting what he said. It's damn obvious.

Taking into consideration that Trump is the descendant of an illegal immigrant (his grandfather entered the country illegaly), taking into consideration that, if you go back a few centuries, every citizen in the USA apart from native Americans are illegal immigrants, that puts a whole new perspective on things.
