In 1992 he ran against incumbent George H. W. Bush. In 1996 he ran against Senator Bob Dole.

I was eligible and i didn’t vote for Clinton in 1992 or 1996. I voted for Perot. However, in hindsight the work accomplished under the Clinton administration was remarkable. The first balanced federal budget in nearly four decades, and the last balanced budget since. Better, actually, the Clinton budget established a surplus.
This was when i first recognized sabotage politics. The Clinton budget included policies and practices that republicans pushed for in the past, but they fought it under Clinton. It did finally pass with nominal republican support.

There are knuckleheads here who claim that the congressional republicans, who literally fought the budget bill, were the reason for the budget surplus. Pure nonsense. You can check the public record on the votes. You can also look at little Bush’s first term and see that the ENTIRE surplus was wiped out in under a year. Same republicans in congress.
Anyone who tells you that republicans balanced the budget in the nineties is ignorant or lying.

I was eligible and I did not vote for him. I voted for Bush in '92 and Bob Dole in '96. Both of whom were far superior to any Republicans over the last 25 years.

I couldn't stand the guy. But the thing is, the Democrats got so bad since then that I miss the days of Clinton compared to the Dems these days. I heard a hard core right wing conservative say the same thing. When Obama was president he said, "I never thought I'd miss Bill Clinton."

Clinton was actually pretty moderate for a Democrat. That's why he couldn't get some of his agenda through until the Republicans took over Congress.

Nope. At the time i was an orthodox jew and my head rabbi of school said vote bill Clinton but i disagreed age 17 in 1992, to stop funding abortions, why a rabbi wanted to fund abortions is insane! and in 1996 voted the guy who lost. Against bill Clinton
