Why are red states the ones that need financial assistance the most?

It seems that heavily red states have the highest number of people on government assistance and need the most federal aid as an entire state. Democrats generally seek to aid those who are less fortunate more than Republicans. It seems like people would vote for those who are more willing to aid them, so why are those states primarily red states?

Ummmm... our Red State shitholes tend to be rural with economies based on agriculture which means a low per capita GDP. Add to that an inbred hate for government fueled by years of Lost Cause and racism from the Confederacy and they have low or no taxes to fund education which they despise and mistrust anyway. That breeds poverty from a terrible job base. The poverty spawns addiction and health crises along with violent crime. Yet these morons keep voting for this abuse election after election to spite minorities and "own the libs". So the rest of us have our tax dollars redirected to these shithole states to keep them from starving or freezing to death.

Well, because people in red states don't believe in education. Without education, they can't do any complicated work, and nobody pays very much for very simple work for the most part. That is a very simplistic explanation and gets more complicated than that. People in red states also do not believe in educated people, so therefore they don't believe in medicine or doctors. As a result, they get ill a lot and with illness, they cannot work or at least can't work very much and as a result need financial assistance.

Thank you, for your answer. What about the state as a whole? California is a giver while most red states are takers. Basically, California gives more money to the federal government than the government gives in aid to California. While states like Mississippi give less $ than they receive in aid.

I believe that all of that is true. California, where I live, has a significant number of very important universities and there is lots of college education.

Low taxes means less money for infrastructure. So shit breaks down more, requiring the government or people to pay more often to fix shit.

They also are pro business which is nice for the only the owners. Workers get paid less as prices rise for everything around them, necessitating government assistance.

These states usually have lower incomes and are more rural. Over the last 50 years the middle class jobs that were the mainstay of the middle of the country were shipped overseas and the economies of most of these states were decimated. There was no alternative economy to take the place of the closing of thousands of factories and millions of good jobs.

Democrats don't want to aid the poor. If they did, they wouldn't allow 10s of millions of illegal immigrants in the country to take federal benefits and put negative pressure on incomes. They want a country of slaves.

It is a form of cultural racism by Northern and West Coast elites. they control the purse of the companies they work for and keep those people in states poor
