Surely it wasn’t as surgical as the extraction of Maduro, but even that didn’t stop the looneys on the left from lying about what happened and ignoring the MILLIONS of people celebrating the end of their oppression.
This time people died, but the survivors are rejoicing! Is that not enough to realize that the right choices were made? War is Hell, for sure. But so is living under oppressive tyrants. Who are you to suggest that their freedom is undeserved because relieving them from violent oppression couldn’t be accomplished without violence in return? After all, is diplomacy meaningful at all if it only results in oppressive regimes exploiting its weaknesses?
In short, is the liberty of the majority worth the deaths of a minority?

Seems a majority of Iran want's change and to be with the west. Problem is a large number of them are like devaout Catholics... but Muslims... with military weapons and willing to kill the others if they complain.

Another case of "they took our guns"... we have no power.

Imagine being so brave as to go cheer in the streets... when you've seen over decades those that do get hung or heads chopped off or shot or disappear.

That's how bad it is...

I'm not opposed to regime change in Iran. I was for it in Iraq and Afghanistan and that part of the world is still a shitshow and that won't change any time soon. They also celebrated at first. I think we all know what's going to happen as soon as the US pulls out of Iran so I'm not going to get too excited yet.

The problem isn't that Trump removes dictators it's that he thinks that fixes the problem. It never has, we removed the Taliban from Afghanistan, now 20 years later they're back in power. We removed Saddam Hussein from Iraq, now ISIS is in power. The reason why getting rid of the Nazis in Germany and the Imperial state in Japan was successful, is because of the Marshall Plan. The people need to have a new government that they support to be put into place after we take out totalitarian leadership. We can help them, like we did with Germany and Japan.

The Taliban only recently took back power in Afghanistan. Due entirely to Biden’s (or whoever was actually in charge at that time) mistake with his hasty withdrawal at exactly the wrong time, despite objections from the joint chiefs. That withdrawal also armed them to the teeth. If the US ever goes back, they’ll be fighting against their own equipment and weapons to liberate the Afghans once again.
Otherwise, you’re not wrong. It definitely strongly suggests that they had ulterior motives and freeing the Iranian people was only a secondary benefit.
