trump has co-opted American politics in a way no other politician has. it's abundantly evident when you see the scores of republicans opinions on trump prior to being president, behind closed doors in leaked convos and what they say about him publicly since being president. Trump was groomed by the mafia lawyer Roy Cohn (find clips of Cohn and you will hear someone who sounds eerily similar to the way Trump talks). Trump seems to taken the art of mafia coercion into politics using information as power to control and manipulate people

The part about him lying is accurate, but the part about him being impeached for obstruction of justice, I have no knowledge of that, and I have no memory of that actually occurring. Do you have some evidence to the contrary?

He told the lie to the FBI, which is a crime, but would usually be ignored for being completely irrelevant to the criminal investigation.

He should probably have been convicted and removed by the Senate, letting Gore go into the 2000 election with experience. Maybe then we wouldn't have had Trump.

But I can understand the Democratic senators being angry at the essentially trumped-up charges.
