No democracy isn't a farce democracy is mob rule majority rules if you can sway the opinion of the majority however that may be through media or whatever you control the Mob. Democracy sounds great However in practice you end up with 51% of the people controlling the other 49% Do you want 51% of the people voting your right to free speech away I don't think you do. Constitutional republics aren't really that great either although your rights are guaranteed and cannot be voted away and there is no democratic republic in the United States it's a constitutional republic you can call it whatever you want just because you vote does not mean it's a democracy
