Have you noticed the rise of puritanism lately?

Every other day it feels like someone’s complaining about how such-and-such is inappropriate and pornographic when it’s just… a guy existing, or a kid having fun, or even just some tasteful art that just happens to include nudity. And then that just extends to the judgements of others, “Oh, she’s dressed like a slut” it’s a skirt that goes above her knees, calm down. Puritanism just sexualized everything and then demonizes it at the same time. Doesn’t that tire you?

Yeaaaah, that's not just a lately kind of thing like Agape says, but maybe that's because i was born and raised in Texas so maybe my experience was a bit more biased.

What I do agree with is that people are absolutely too opionated about others are doing with their life when it isn't harming anyone else and that includes those who have that puritanical belief.

I think it’s gotten worse in recent years. Anything with a kid on it is immediately labeled “child porn” somehow

Think so? I think that (and maybe or not this is what you are referring to) people have been trying to limit what adults do and saying it's for the protection of children when in reality it's just so they can get more data on people online.

If it's not that then I might need clarification because I might be on the side of being more cautious when kids' images are being used in suggestive situations.

It feels like any image where kids are present in anything but full body clothes is like the Nirvana Nevermind cover. Like, just because it’s clear it’s a male baby does not make it porn

Lately? That's the shit I was born and raised in, and how society is about sex and sexuality. No matter your age, you're sexualized by freaks and demonized for their own behaviors and perception.

Yeah that’s something done by religious zealots. With Trump rising to power with an unholy alliance of Christian Nationalists, they feel emboldened to propagate their ideology on the public.

Yes; it’s one of the few things we agree on as our personalities are very different, but yes. I feel equally strongly about that.
