Is the average height really accurate?

or is it higher than it should be because people measure with shoes on and round up their height?
I know average and short people who round up their heights. Does that affect the average height?

I heard multiple times that average height for a man is 6 foot. Yet I'm 5'10" and been considered tall.. I do have to know why you asked this average question anonymously.

I think they're getting the height information from hospitals or reliable institutions. So it's reliable. Otherwise, it can't be called research.

What do you mean "they always measure you taller than you actually are"? Every time I've had my height measured it's shoes off and they tell me to stand up straight shoulders back then lower that metal arm until it hits my head and read the height. I doubt my high school, university, the US ARMY, and multiple primary care doctors over my lifetime all conspired to inflate my height (or weight). What would they gain from that? I'm pretty sure the nurses don't give a damn. We're all just cattle they need to run through a process.
