If people hate America so much, why don’t they just move away?

Hate is a pretty strong word. Disliking or not agreeing with something is different. For example, you might not like American food, but that doesn’t mean you have to leave the place where you were born, where your entire family lives, and where you work. That would be a pretty drastic change for something as minor as a dislike, especially when it’s something you can simply work around.

That’s a small % who whines … that group will whine about everything. Don’t pay attention to the squeaky wheels. Those will pull you down.

My brother in law is French.
He looked for every way to get out. He came to work in the US. Had to go back. Came back, met my sister on vacation. He married my sister and now here legally… happily married with 2 kids.
Able to buy his dream car within 6 months of working here. Bought their apartment after 2 years of living here…his salary more than double with the new job he found.
Took him 15 adult working years to buy his one bedroom apt. in Paris…because the salary was $60-$70k. 1/2 went to tax.
He is so happy that he left France.

@midnightmoon05 Great, I hope he has private health care for his family for the rest of his life. All it takes is one major medical problem while uninsured and people are bankrupt. Also where is he living? Paris is the most expensive city in France -- it's comparable to New York or San Francisco in the US. Also here in the US many people take 15 years or more to get clear title to their home. I'm in Seattle earning $200K and we can't afford a house.

Yes he has healthy care with his job. my sister also has health care from her job so they are good.
Yes he came from Paris and yes they live in NY
The point is… with their salary in the US they are very comfortable.
They make more than $200k.
But even $200k is very doable in the city. Depends how one wants to live.
Health care… I am not familiar because I get it from my job. And yes. I do pay for it form my family.
No, we love America and we are making the American dream.
We have travelled extensively throughout Europe and many Asian countries… the US is till a land of opportunities. other countries have a lot more restrictions.
Oh we also let our host family from out air bnb. We became friends… they are comfortable… but can never make it more than that…
If they want to sell their second home… they have to pay the government 50% tax. They are only allow to rent out their extra apt. with very little money.
They are just surviving… I can see that the US is becoming like that… but not yet… so… if you want… try to make it here.

I know many are struggling… but in the US, there are still more options than other countries.

Exactly!! They have been trained to live in fear…. When in reality…in the US… there are still options.
In the US we have the opportunities to change jobs. To make businesses, to do nothing 😂 - freedom!!

@midnightmoon05 In many US cities, $100K/year is not enough to comfortably raise a family. It's enough for a single person but not for a family of three. Also without insurance, and sometimes even with insurance, it doesn't take much to rack up tens of thousands in medical expenses.

The difference between the US and countries (we don’t want to move to) - we have choices.
$100k-$200k is very good for so many…. Those people would love to have such income… move up… and have a better life.

@midnightmoon05 The difference between the US and Europe is that the Europeans are healthier, live longer, have lower infant and maternal mortality, and basically do better than the US on every measure of social wellbeing.

They are hoping if they wait it out but they can convert it into North Korea. They don't realize that governments like that kill radicals once they take over. Look in the French revolution.

I think it’s probably mainly a money issue. Most people aren’t rich and it can be hard to find employment and housing.
