Anonymous(Under 18)4 moAdmittedly, there's a risk in any course we follow other than this, but every lesson of history tells us that the greater risk lies in appeasement, and this is the specter our well-meaning liberal friends refuse to face, that their policy of accommodation is appeasement, and it gives no choice between peace and war, only between fight or surrender. If we continue to accommodate, continue to back and retreat, eventually we have to face the final demand, the ultimatum. And what then, when the Ayatollah has told his people he knows what our answer will be? He has told them that we're retreating under the pressure of the Iran's decades long Jihad, and someday when the time comes to deliver the final ultimatum, our surrender will be voluntary, because by that time we will have been weakened from within spiritually, morally, and economically. He believes this because from our side he's heard voices pleading for "peace at any price" or "better Islam than dead," or as one commentator put it, he'd rather "live on his knees than die on his feet." And therein lies the road to war, because those voices don't speak for the rest of us.
You and I know and do not believe that life is so dear and peace so sweet as to be purchased at the price of chains and Islamic slavery. If nothing in life is worth dying for, when did this begin - just in the face of this enemy? Or should Moses have told the children of Israel to live in slavery under the pharaohs? Should Christ have refused the cross? Should the patriots at Concord Bridge have thrown down their guns and refused to fire the shot heard 'round the world? The martyrs of history were not fools, and our honored dead who gave their lives to stop the advance of the Nazis didn't die in vain. Where, then, is the road to peace? Well it's a simple answer after all.
You and I have the courage to say to our Iranian enemies, "There is a price we will not pay." "There is a point beyond which they must not advance." And this - this is the meaning in the phrase of Barry Goldwater's "peace through strength." Winston Churchill said, "The destiny of man is not measured by material computations. When great forces are on the move in the world, we learn we're spirits - not animals." And he said, "There's something going on in time and space, and beyond time and space, which, whether we like it or not, spells duty."
You and I have a rendezvous with destiny.
We'll preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we'll sentence them to take the last step into a thousand years of Islamic darkness.

That is approximately double the military power of China. However, the economic growth rate of China is 5.45% vs. 2.49% for the USA. On that basis, in 20 years the military of China and USA will be appoximately equal and after 20 years the military power of China will exceed the military power of the USA.

11.6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Except that our army is probably not the most powerful army, and we do not control the world. We'd like to tell everybody that those things are true because we'd like to scare the rest of you. You should not believe us. That mythology originated specifically because of the very bad habit that we have of paying defense contractors literally a trillion dollars a year to build weapons of questionable efficiency and questionable usability. Because we pay them that much money, we like to then assume that the weapons we purchase are the best weapons in the world. They are not. Moreover, much of our armed forces personnel come from the very poorest levels of our society. These are the people for whom a military career is seen as an upgrade relative to earning potential. Such people, while dedicated and well-meaning, also have very poor educations because we refuse to provide anything better for them. They are the unfortunate victims of poor education, poor genetics, and poor nutrition, and subsequently, poor health. I think you know as well as I do that such persons do not make for an elite military.

4 moI would prefer if we didn't have to "control the world". It would be nice if the world had some self control, but it's better to be able to fight evil than to be powerless in the face of evil.
Psalm 28:3-4
Do not drag me off with the wicked, with the workers of evil, who speak peace with their neighbors while evil is in their hearts. Give to them according to their work and according to the evil of their deeds; give to them according to the work of their hands; render them their due reward.

Is that the Bible?

Yep. It's a prayer of David. Islam claims to be the "religion of peace" publicly as they infiltrate our countries, mean while privately chanting death to America (Christians) and death to Israel (Jews). They work on nuclear weapons in their underground bunkers shrouded in secrecy in a plot to annihilate the Jews and Christians and bring forth their version of the end times (the Hour). In Islam they claim
""As for the first portent of the Hour, it will be a fire that will collect the people from the East to West."
If you start nuking countries with giant fireballs war starts and gathers the people of the east and west on a battlefield in a nuclear apocalypse (WWIII).

The Muslims believe the Jews and Christians are beneath cockroaches. Muslims believe in Arab superiority (White Supremacy/Nazism) and that those who do not share their spiritual soul (Islam) as Hitler put it need to be destroyed...
"Indeed, those who disbelieve from the People of the Book (Jews and Christians) and the polytheists will be in the Fire of Hell, to stay there forever. They are the worst of ˹all˺ beings."

So I posted part of a prayer from King David which asks for God's help. The Lord Is My Strength and My Shield... Iran screams death to America (Christians) and Israel (Jews), and instead they are dealt death from Jews and Christians or as the prayer asks
"Give to them according to their work and according to the evil of their deeds; give to them according to the work of their hands; render them their due reward."

As it states in Exodus 15:3
The Lord is a man of war; the Lord is his name.

God is a divine warrior who will prevail against His enemies while he protects and delivers His people. So put on the full armor of God.

4 monot for that. pride is for a society with personal freedom.. in fact china has more warplanes so it is most powerful air power not ours. russia has more tanks [even after ukraine destroyed thousands] so russia is the most powerful "army". if we controlled the world putin would stop attacking ukraine and iran would stop shooting rockets at its neighbors. so we aare not the best at war but we are the best in freedom.

Freedom? What freedom dude? You elect presidents from the options they ( the israeli lobby) are giving you.. you make you think you choose and you are free.. but just do what they allow you to do

4 moWe'll, not sure about proud but impressed we are so technologically powerful, says something about our system and people. We are "the world".
But I don't like how we do it and how it looks. Not so long ago, we put our names on boxes of food as we fed the hungry. Being the fading bully of the world is not good for image.
00 Reply 27.2K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. It is the most powerful military in the world. We have the best trained personnel and the best technology. Not enough to control rhe whole world and it would be a mistake to think so

The last line of the American national anthem as sang during major sporting events. I think it is actually something like " 'or the land of the free and the home of the brave!" If I remember there is something about the anthem being in old tongue as it is so old but I could be wrong. I am Canadian afterall

So you are proud of them!
Anonymous(25-29)4 moTrump just asked a bunch of other countries to send ships to help them against Iran (who acocrding to your president basically have no military left), so I don’t know how powerful it can really be.
