Yea. They incentivize irresponsible behavior. But on the other hand, people are responsible for their own behavior no matter how easy those companies make it.

Realistically the credit card companies are worse. They give credit to people who should not have credit. They push cards on people like students who are least likely to pay them off. Card companies didn't used to do that. In the past you had to actually have good credit and the ability to pay them off. When I first went to college I don't think anyone I knew had a card. I don't remember seeing anyone use them, not even people I didn't know.

I think high interest credit card are. When I was a kid the loan sharks were getting 12% and it was a crime.
