is crazy how women here in America have been whining about sexism and oppression for over a century yet now all of the sudden are cheering on a culture that treats women worse than a pile of shit.

this is no different than hearing Jews cheering on Neo Nazis, or blacks supporting the KKK. is like how delusion can democrats and the rest of the left be?

they're not supporting sharia law. they tend to think that muslims in the west are mostly harmless, westernized and modernized, and that hijab in Europe at least is often women's free will. they tend to believe (because of the media they consume not some weird psychosexual thing) that migrants are mostly poor families who are running from their horrible countries to find a better life in Europe, and that stuff like rape, pedo shit, and other crimes reportedly committed by them are fake news spread by the right. i guarantee that the vast majority of them, if they believed that muslims were retrograde, dangerous, misogynist, etc and that migrants are mostly single men and that they commit crimes, they would have a much more right wing view on them.

personally i'm a western 'leftist' woman and i'm anti mass migration from the middle east and africa, because i know it's mostly men from the poor areas in countries like afghanistan and i've heard about stuff like the cologne new years, i've been harrassed by some myself when i lived in a big euro city, and i know men from certain countries are more dangerous to women and children because of their horrible views. but i know a significant portion of muslims in the west, i believe like 70% (non migrants) are westernized and normal, and are indistinguishable in their views from christians, atheists, etc. the quoran is sexist, but so is the bible, the torah. we all practice more modern versions of the religions. so i'm not against muslims & arabs, and their ability to practice their religion. as long as they adhere to western values.

Because leftest operate in a very black and white way of thinking. You have the Haves and have nots, or the Oppressors and the Oppressed, And bad behavior from the Oppressed is simply a result of the oppressors. So all the sexism you see in Iran, that is just caused by the US's sanctions or Israel. Islam is seen as an oppressed religion and Christianity is seen as the Oppressor religion.

Well I think there is a lot of ignorance among people in the US about Islam, And I often see academics try to muddy the water to make it hard to say anything negative about Islam. Even if you confront them with facts about Islam they will just dismiss it and see it as an marginalized community dealing with systemic colonial oppression. After all there is no perfect victim So all this criticism is nothing more then victim blaming and we should be talking about the sexism in Christianity instead

Because their social hierchy is built on virtue signaling. Their culture believes Muslims on the surface are oppressed by non Muslim governments taking advantage of extremists to promote war. This thought process is suspiciously exactly true enough to make it easy for them to see anything negative being used to describe a key word they associate with being Muslim as bad must be propaganda. This is an advanced idea that so far as I know has its roots in marketing.

A marketing equivalent I'd point to is when apple made their phone associated with individuality and having a unique coolness even though the whole philosophy of the product is to make a cookie cutter out of the most simple, idiot proofed system they could imagine. And the android was (at the time) better in practically every way..

It took over a decade for people to snap out of the hypnotic association between the shape of an iPhone and the ideas their marketing attached to it. Even if the ideas were detached from reality.

There have been studies about how this effect plays out in politics.

So in short, theyre sort of hypnotized (classical conditioning) to stop thinking critically after their brain picks up on a negative being attached to "Muslim" a jolt of anxiety hits them probably nearly into fight or flight and they re literally trained to go "no, that's propaganda, even if it sounds like it makes sense it's more complicated and my source of knowledge is trusted so... etc" and then the trump neural circuit activates and I think the rest is pretty obvious.

The Left is against anything Western no matter what. So they will support Sharia law despite it's sexism because Islam is anti-West.

At the same time they will support education mission for equality and LBTQ++++ despite the fact Islam isn't going to change

Those women are brainwashed. Western governments discourage people from thinking for themselves. They tell you what to think and none of what they tell you it's up for debate for example, "Diversity is our strength" , "All cultures are equal" and if you dare to question any of it be prepaired to be punished for it.

Ironically riding on the support of those who would turn around and say that colonialism is bad and that women are equal to if not better than men while their holy book worships a false prophet (by its own definition) who married and raped a 9 year old girl, and fully supports wife beating.

I can’t speak for why some progressives would think Sharia law was good, I personally dislike all religion, and by extension any laws stemming from holy books.
I think Conservatives in the United States are just as stupid for wanting a Christian theocracy.
