Islam, like christianity and judaism, is a heavily and inherently patriarchal religion. As a result, it favors men for roles of power and recommends women be submissive to it. There are a number of muslim countries where the women often have no choice but to adhere to the rules of Islam because they’re also the rules of the governing body in charge. As for those who do have a choice and still pursue it, these are women who have found meaning in the religion and it brings something important to their lived they don’t have anywhere else. This is not a choice to be shamed, the choices of the individual are their own, and they’re not wrong or sexist for making this choice.

Of course, I agree, all religions are corrupt, and pretty much all the major ones are more slanted towards men, but if a Jewish woman, a Christian woman, or a Mormon woman, pick whatever, was in a city of her religion, and shouted at the top of her lungs. She had premarital sex, she was showing her shoulders, or whatever, there would be no punishment to her. Definitely no physical punishment. And she would not be in an arranged marriage

I did not say all religions are corrupt. Patriarchy isn’t an inherent evil, provided the society has made it a place to make everyone comfortable. And there would indeed be punishment if she lived in a more traditional/orthodox community. Everyone assumes Islam is only the most extreme sects of itself, but there are plenty that are much more lax outside of theocratic nations

Sure, Catholicism says no sex before. Marriage, don't have sex in your. It's a sin. A bunch of other things, but if you were to stand in a Catholic City as a female and say you had sex before marriage, nobody is going to kill you.

Women aren't allowed to vote, in some countries work in general, show their faces in public, have sex before marriage, some are expected to share their husband.

EVERY faith is in some respect sexist, Islam more so than most, but many Muslim women accept it as being a good Muslim sister.
