I know of no circus without animals. It has been decades since I went to a circus. If circuses nowadays are without animals good, and there is absoultley no need to ban those. But obviously my question means a circus with animals. That is the traditional circus.

I think banning things is rarely a good idea, it doesn't stop anything it just forces things under ground and makes them more dangerous. see Prohibition and the war on drugs I also don't think circuses are inherently bad, the animal abuse is, but clowns trapeze work, juggling, cotton candy, games, balloon animals are all good.

Yes I am talking about animal rights. That is why I think circuses should be banned. If they have no animals then I have no problem with circuses.
So what are you saying we do not ban things because criminals prevail? If criminals try to take advantage of a ban it is up to law enforcement and to the judicial system to deal with them. What can I say. The ban on alcohol was perhaps a bit of a particular case. Because so many people wanted it, and after all laws and bans should reflect the people's will in a democratic society. The alcohol prohibition was not reflecting the people's will. It was an undemocratic law in reality. But animal cruelty is a different matter. I think the majority of people are against animal cruelty and a ban on all animal cruelty in all shape and form will be a different matter.

I thought, at least here in the USA, that the Circus sort of died a natural death over the last 25 years and the Circus performers have all drifted off to Cirque De Soleil stage shows for the most part. Are there any traditional Circus's still operating?

Wild animals are banned in the UK but circuses can still use domestic ones. Even so the welfare level is the absolute bare minimum needed to stay legal.

I think public opinion took animals out of the circus here in America. And there's an argument to be made for the animal isn't constantly dodging a brutal death.

Those elephants are very well treated and maintained. They are smart and you'll be intractable if they were mistreated. Don't care for the big cat acts, though.

I visited an elephant sanctuary, and the elephants put on shows to help raise money for themselves and the trainers. Some elephants could swing a hula hoop on their trunk, some could throw darts and some could even paint pictures with their trunk. They looked very happy, and the audience bought bananas to feed them. I think animals enjoy doing tricks for treats.
