Why do some people seek dual citizenship with the US or other countries?

I heard of e. g. German people, married with US citizens and living in Texas want a US citizenship now, family of a college. And in the TV want some US citizens the citizenship of their parents or grandparents.

It is a bad idea. They will need to pay taxes to both! Probably won't pay double tax and will go to prison. But they can live as long as they want in both countries without visa time limit- a worthless privilege- you only live in one! Or the other. But your answer makes sense they want to add the citizenship of a grandparent.

A child of a dual citizen can live in u. S. Then ho to college free in e. u. Then go "home" to work in u. s.

I got a second citizenship from of a Mexican grandparent/great grandparent...

but we all got dual citizenship because... we actually went to live and work over there in Mexico and it makes things much easier and it's also a right that they give you and suggest right away too

For one thing, it's great to live in the USA for its freedoms and opportunities, but, if you have a health issue, you want to be covered by a country that has nationalized health care. Here in the USA, if your medical conditions don't kill you, your medical bills will.

Maybe to receive more benefits and for some to be able to live and work there...
Personally i have never seeked for another citizenship...

Those people have work and did not need it so far. They said they do not feel save. The one man living in Texas, married with a US woman. And the woman I saw in the News with US citizenship who wants to have now also the German citizenship. They both don't feel save. All have work and solid life.

No. As I wrote. I heard from a colleague that a man who lives in Texas wants the US citizenship even he is married and working as a teacher for decades there. Feels not safe without US citizenship. And in the news a woman says she wants the German citizenship. Her family went to the US as refugees from Germany.

Well, the texas one makes sense. Have you seen how aggressive ICE has been to any non-citizens lately? People have been killed. As for the german one, if she lives in Germany it makes sense she’d want that citizenship. She can gain access to resources only German citizens have, which can be a life saver compared to using strictly American resources
