I had that happen recently. I still got a refund even though it showed as delivered. I don't know what happened because I don't think we have porch thieves around here. Or at least I've never heard of any.

If someone did steal it they'll be disappointed when they open it. It was a $5 toilet flusher handle.

That was UPS which used to make you sign for everything. I guess the extra labor cost so much that it was worth paying an occasional claim for non-delivery.
