Is it just me, or are commie countries invariably shit?

You know when they show commie countries on TV and in movies, the place always looks like a major craphole? That's always down to communism, right?

Also, some people love these shit tips, and think there's nothing wrong with them. How can anyone be that deluded?

If you see only bad images it is propaganda. Any country will have some nice looking places.

That said there are only five countries considered communist. China, Vietnam, Cuba, North Korea and Laos.

Out of these China, Vietnam and Laos all operate free market economies. They are functionally capitalist and only communist in name, not practice.

North Korea is a totalitarian regime and as such, while it has planned economy, does not qualify as a communist country.

Cuba is the only country on earth that, on paper, meets the criteria of a communist country. If we consider the ampunt of suppression Cuba is facing economically they are doing pretty well for themselves. Whether we actually consider Cuba communist or not is still not agreed on.

But tldr, there only exists one country that is maybe communist. Even then it is maybe and it is a poor example as it has faced market suppression and terrorism attacks from bigger countries such as USA for generations now.

The ideology is not the problem. It's the terrible people who don't understand how to do it.
There's a reason Einstein, Oppenheimer were both socialists. Ya know just two of the smartest guys to exist. There is a lot of smart people too who'd rather have capitalism not cause socialism wouldn't work but it benefited them more.

And yes those who think those countries are great are delusional for sure. I as a socialist without such delusion can see those weren't done right. They can't even be called such really just pretending.

Your talking about 3rd world countries who's lacking the middle class so your going to see the really poor or the really rich there. A lot of these countries have a lot of natural beauty like the plants/ wild live.

Name one Communist country. There are none. Russia, China, North Korea... all dictatorships run by fascists. Forget the names they give their political parties, that's just the marketing. China has billionaires. North Korea has an Emperor. Russia has Oligarchs.

And now the USA is going the same route. Because half our population is stupid enough to vote for a King with the IQ of a tree stump.

Yes, exactly, so it's perfectly possible to have a communist economic system and a democratic political system. This is usually referred to as democratic socialism, but you get the idea. So, in truth, there is no such thing as a "commie country."

People tend to confuse communism with a dictatorship. Yes the Soviet Union was founded on the principles of a communist economic system. But that lasted about 4 years until Stalin took control of the Party and became their dictator for life. At that point Stain was basically a King or Emperor. Yes it was a centrally planned economy but the motivation was not economic it was based on power wielded by one psychopath. That's why I say there has never been a communist country. All of them have been fascist dictatorships. Communism as espoused by Karl Marx never had a chance to prove itself or fail.

And yeah, Democratic Socialism is just a pragmatic blending of Capitalism and Communism / Socialism where the state is seen as the best way to run say a currency or central banking system, or defense or healthcare or education but a Capitalist free market is the right economic system for everything else. And people still get to vote on laws and taxes and spending and such.

Communism does not work. People are not invested in the country because there is no private ownership. As a result thy do the least amount of work possible and everyone has a lowered standard of living.

No, that's wrong. Communism is working just fine in Vietnam. For instance. What you want is a communist economic system and a democratic political system combined. This is called Democratic socialism and it works just fine. The reason people don't want it is because many people would like the opportunity to steal from others and Democratic socialism makes that more difficult.
