Why do so many men feel like the disposable sex in society?

Before i continue this, im going to say this is not women's fault, this is a societal fault.

This was Marine Sgt. Tyler Ziegel and his new wife in October 2006. Do they look like happy newlyweds? Look at his face, look at her face. She soon divorced him, not being able to deal with his disfigurement.

Ziegel tried to make life work, but the VA failed him, paying substantially less than he needed and deserved. His injuries went beyond his appearance, and holding a normal job was impossible.

Ziegel died on December 26, 2012, from an overdose of alcohol and morphine. You could make the argument that his life ended when he was deployed. If you ask why I'm being a hippy about war, look no further than Sgt. Tyler Ziegel. God bless his soul, and God curse the people who sent him there.

This could have been 10% prevented. The VA could have helped more, His friends could have helped more. His wife could have done the "In sickness and in health" part and stuck around to help. None of that happened and he took his own life. Its sickening that he had no one. This is the kind of thing that make so many of us just exit society. Because we are the disposable sex. We are the whipping boys for all of society's evils. We are blamed for everything, and expected to take it on the chin like good little boys.

This story breaks my heart. It's so sad and none of this had to happen. lol I'm crying now. Anyway It's 100% true that society doesn't care about men's deaths. They don't care about mens issues. They see men as work horses. You due your duty and if you die you die. Women are treated lie breeding live stock. Sure they care more about us not dying, but that's just so we can make more babies. I just had my first child and they were far more interested in the baby then me. Granted I cared more about my babies health then my own too. That's called being a mom, but the hospital could have done more to help me. I'm not trying to compare my struggles to Vets. They have it far worse, but I'm just trying to make a point. In general, society doesn't care about you, they care about what you do.

I care greatly for the men in my life. My husband s my world, now our little family has a daughter now too. It starts with the family. Also not voting for pro war politicians will help too and trying to reform the VA. When ever I hear anyone talking about it, they always say bad things.

Unfortunately most people don't expect to ever experience the worst or sicknesses of a partner and a lot of people buckle under pressure. It's really sad that vet's are turned away cause they make too much money to qualify for the VA you would think if their willing to put their life on the line they would be treated like a VIP when they seek out help unfortunately that's not the case.

The answer is the post doesn't talk about how much the females went through... they go through a lot. In general, more males are "sacraficed" into the the fires of conflict, but more often it's the women and children sacraficed on the other side of it as civilians. Ask the family of the Iraqi girl that was raped and murdered and then burned to cover up. That soldier was convicted and probably released. She's dead, and don't know what happened to the family but I doubt they are cheering American flag.

President Trump had done s lot to fix the VA during his first term but there is still a lot thst should be done.
I knew somebody who got married and 6 months after he was hit by a car while he was out running and was paralyzed from the waist down. His wife soon divorced him and he developed an extreme hatred for women. She told him that this was not what she signed up, for.

@888theGreat He got rid of al the bad apples in the VA, He started the policy if a service member had to wait too long to see a doctor they could go to a private doctor and send the bill to the VA. There were other policies that also helped make the VA better as well.

I agree with your title to an extent and what you wrote surely has truth to it but what happened to him has happened to a lot of women. I think it's safe to say it's many peoples worst nightmare.

I know women who care about looks, yet say they would stay with their husbands if something like this happened, because of loyalty, but I'm not so sure. If that was ME, I wouldn't blame her honestly. I probably wouldn't want her married to a monster.
