I see no other value worthy and I strive to live for that. I know people that do that full time as their "job". There's so much truth in it it blinds out that which sounds like it might be fib.

Money is and never has been a good God, even when it was gold or silver, it's worthless.

Beyond that, caring for the next generation and the elders and don't forget yourself. Some people just care for the animals

I’m not talking about politics, dude. I’m talking about the Southern California mentality, it’s extremely materialistic, wealth and status oriented. If you move out to the country, you may not like their politics; but you sure as hell will have peace and meet a lot less materialistic people. Think about the people’s mentality here, the materialism, the status chasing, the image obsession, plus all the Hollywood bullshit. It’s old, when I was in New Mexico it was like a whole different world. Everybody was friendly except for the tweaker drug addicts in Albuquerque. It’s a pretty liberal state, mostly Democrats. I didn’t see people trying to flaunt status symbols and their wealth everywhere, like a bunch of image obsessed fucking peacocks

I know about all of that when I lived in Laurel canyon. I only lived about a mile and a half north of sunset boulevard and I used to hang around in the clubs and restaurants there and even played some music in a few of the clubs. I know all about the people you're talking about and it's not necessary to hang around with them if you don't want to. It's a choice and it's not a mandatory choice. I don't live in that area anymore, but I have a lot of friends there, particularly up in the canyon that I really love. It's a matter of picking and choosing the people you want to be with. Nothing is really forced.
