Have you noticed that in America, it is so common for people to be assholes, that people don't call others assholes unless it is extreme?

People don't call other people assholes for example when people use others and use the excuses "I need to know the person before I decide what to say about them," even though you told them what they did. And they use the same excuses for other asshole things but all of a sudden if someone socks someone in the face, etc than someone is considered an asshole. It is has to be extreme.

You "told them what they did". But we (most normal americans ) don't believe you because it is 'just one side of the story" you probably left out what you did. So you might have been WORSE, so "need to know the person before I decide what to say about them'.

People say "gossip" all the time, then afterwards we hear the whole story, so we learn "need to know the person before I decide what to say about them".
