Trending & News Is this about religious control, farmland, something else?

People will tell you, random acts of violence are a daily occurrence in central Africa so there’s no point making a fuss every time someone gets killed there
The truth is: people only care when there’s an overarching self interest they want
They care about Iran, Gaza, Lebanon… all because of the gulf’s oil pipeline
Depending on who wins in these countries a new pipeline could be built causing a major economic shift in the world.
But some Nigerians getting killed over religion with no one outside of the region getting impacted, that doesn’t matter to those who write the news.
you are right. people won't risk their lives or wealth without some reason. It doesn't trigger emotions... the rare article in the news does nothing.
I'm not seeing the self interest in middle east other than oil and values... at the moment.
Oil alone is worth the bloodletting in terms of profits and losses.
It’s the cornerstone of all economies in the world.
Besides the people calling the shots aren’t risking their own lives
They risk the lives of the grunts as always
And Africa would be the same.
If an outside intervention is ever sanctioned there needs to be a self interest linked to it
No one will send their soldiers to did on foreign soil for absolutely no return on investment
We could send all the libral/progressive women whom want to fight for womens rights, equality and fairness? Could Greta Thunberg lead that?
Nobody cares about Nigeria. there is no oil or anything else of value.
Well you aren't silent about it. The thing people only talk about things that are useful to them. Few people profit from this story so few people share it. Your probably a christian tired of all the news in Palestine so you are bringing it up here
In UK, so many are only concerned with Gaza. They don't think of the other atrocities in the rest of the workd.

you get loud about trends... otherwise, you won't get attention
that's how these "pretend to care" games work...
You're an American. You have no clue what the world does or is reporting on.
I have never seen, or heard, the world's silence. But maybe it was, before Gutenberg?
In virtually every muslim majority country Christians are being oppressed, murdered, raped, gang raped and generally discriminated against.
Nigeria is a failed state. Four more murders are hardly newsworthy. Israel is killing more people in Lebanon every day.
Because they don’t play on people’s emotions,
The world is preoccupied with mourning only the Arabs who have died
you are right! so sad.
Trump addressed that issue and sent bombs. But he wants control of their oil not to really save Christians.
They said 4 people don’t matter. Except when it’s George Floyd. Then the world burns.
It's only 4 people. Why would they matter
Lots more over the years and systematic. It may be back and forth.
don't Africans matter?
That's true and not true...
because you change history for eternity on a moment by moment basis...
Agree, but we all make history... for eternity. Agree? What you do, is impactful... eternally. I'm not sure it is stored, but ripples through time...
Maybe that's the issue of "it doesn't matter"... because it isn't remembered? No doubt, you have impacted lives and others impacted yours whom impacted theirs. If someone would have dealt with someone that harmed you before they got to you, would have changed your life completely.
That's how I see it, we are relevant.
Because they are not blonde, blue-eyed, and white
It’s not when you post an article about it.
They're Africans.
If was white people doing it would it get news vs muslim/black?
Civil war in Africa, pick any day.
