Why do people that know foreign languages revert to them, instead of English, when saying certain terms, like the rest of us KNOW what they're saying?

Someone will be speaking in perfect English and then pull out a few words in French or some other language like we're just SUPPOSED to know what those words mean! We both speak English!! Just say it in English!!

Here's an example. At 6:16 he uses a foreign term, I'm guessing it's French but, I have no idea what it means. There might be a few other examples in this video but, this is as far as I've gotten into it, so far.

Maybe they forget the word in English, but my parents do this. My dad will insert random Polish words into English sentences, but not my mom is the opposite. She'll insert English words when talking to people in Polish. But it's even weirder, because when she talks to us or other family memember she speaks cleanly, but when she talks to strangers in Polish, she'll insert random English words. My dad is the same with English. He speaks it cleanly around us, but with strangers, he'll insert random Polish words. So that makes it even weirder. Because not knowing or forgetting is one thing, but I don't understand how you can speak it fluently in front of certain people, but not in front of others.

Uhm... people revert to their native language because they don't know the other language's vocabulary in that moment. When my grandmother had to do mental arithmetic, she would always use her native language, because that's how she learned it in school.

That may be but, we're talking about AMERICANS that speak English but eventually learned another language or certain phrases of it.
