Do people who live in the country really dress more casually than city folks?

My buddy who moved to my town from the Bay Area certainly thought so😂, but I see no correlation, though in bigger cities I guess you see more nicely dressed people. Though there's a lot of slobs too

And I know even in France and Italy, the lands of fashion, I've seen many dress like slobs, especially when they're on vacation. I honestly think it has more to do with wealth and status, then where you live.

Depends on who. If you're from south of the border often you're well dressed. Born in America you're probably more casual. Young gen Z men seem to be neater though. Trimmed beards clean Stetsons on good condition. Maybe t shirts and jeans but high end. A lot of times pretty expensive trucks too. It's not like the 70s when so many rural people looked like ex convicts. Unbathed looking with ragged thrown on clothes. They looked like Chud the Builder back then.

If you live in the countryside and work on your land or crops, I guess you would dress accordingly.

City people may have a dress code (mostly unwritten though) if they work in an office.

Here in Seattle people dress very casually, so I'm doubtful that anyone could dress more casually.

Yes, we do. There is no need to dress up except for church. And a lot of us are farmers.

I really can't see a farmer saying to his wife, Honey, I need my dress suit to milk the cows and slop the pigs. The dry cleaning bill would be sky-high.
