There is a ridiculous hypocrisy in trying to prevent this. Israel has had nukes for 50 years and they stole US technology to get them. They are not more civilised than the Iranians, they are just the controllers of a weak USA, whereas Iran are adversaries.

Iran is now being pretty brutal in negotiations with the USA. They have made it clear that any more attacks on their sovereign territory and they will enrich uranium to 90%, which basically means they are saying they will make a nuclear weapon. They have had enough of USA's murdering, its lawlessness, its total contempt for every other nation on earth bar its dominatrix, Israel.

The USA is playing with fire right now and the majority of the world's citizens are no longer on its side.

Not even medium-term. You don’t just develop rocket-deliverable nuclear warheads and ICBMs. That’s decades of work with money Iran doesn’t really have. I have worked with Iranians for years. The vast majority of them are everyday Joes and Janes, not very much interested in religion, much less any apocalypticism. Those fanatics you mentioned, are the same in Pakistan and Iran, I would argue that in Pakistan they are more dangerous because of being the direct neighbor of India and in a constant state of inferiority complex due to their smaller country/population/military size.
