Redistricting is the same thing as election rigging dressed up.

    It’s not a false statement.
Democracy is a zero sum game.
    There are winners and losers.
    That’s by design.

You can vote. But if you lose the thing you’re voting for because more people voted against you then your vote no longer matters, theirs does.

You’re given a voice but you’re not given “power”
Your voice is only one of many and what the herd decides is what gets done

There are better designs, especially for country or state-wide elections for a single office.

I hadn’t heard of that one.
      It’s not bad at all.

Clearly would solve a major issue with the classic majority winner which is the need to pick a lesser evil, because if you hate one candidate then you’re better off voting for the one who’s got the best chance at beating him.

But voting out of disapproval instead of voting for the one you approve of seems counter productive.

Still it doesn’t change the main point of my answer: if your candidate lost the elections, regardless of what model is applied, your vote no longer matters in the day to day decision making.

The winner will always have the duty and privilege of making choices that affect everyone. Both his voters and his opposition alike.

Well, that's true, until the next election. The idea is that they can only do limited damage in two years (US rules), and that the other branches will keep them in order, which turns out to be an empty hope.

You know Trump just stole nearly $2bn taxpayer money to give to people who broke the law on his behalf?

      Really? Why?

An orator said, I think to Alabama's senate, "Of course you are going to pass the maps, you'd give us fewer than zero seats, if you could". 32% of the population, 0 seats.

It sounds like the corrupted nature of government has taken hold.

Really? It's the government's fault that it's been turned into a criminal organisation?

Yes, the lack of teeth within the government to hold itself accountable, is why it's been allowed to become a trough of self interests.
Just look at unfetteted donations to folk.

Ah, you say "the government", when you mean "the Republicans".

The Republicans nominated all the "justices" who approved Citizens United. The Republicans in congress aren't holding Trump to the law (they just all went home rather than lose a vote on stopping Trump's illegal Iran war). Not to mention the times the Republicans in Congress didn't impeach or convict Trump the first two times.

Not only the legal system but the Senate and House have a responsibility to hold the Clown in Chief accountable.

Yes, and Republicans are failing in their responsibilities, allowing Trump to do whatever he wants. They went home rather than lose a vote on whether Trump should stop the Iran war.

Trump lost the vote, by the way.

      U. S. House votes to adopt a war powers resolution to effectively end the War in Iran, 215 to 208.

Four Republicans voted for it: Tom Barrett (MI-07), Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01), Warren Davidson (OH-08) and Thomas Massie (KY-04).

Of course he lost the vote and the fact that he was able to unilaterally put US troops and foreign citizens in peril without STATE oversight is a problem the US needs to resolve. 3 branches with one having the power to do as they please for a time is one step from autocracy.

That's because almost everything you believe is wrong. It is illegal for non-citizens to vote in federal elections. The left doesn't encourage lawbreaking.
