Do Black and White people think about wealth and money differently?

Question

From the black folks I know they seem to view wealth as cash in their hand, clothes on their back, jewellery, their hair, their make up, their car with zero savings or investments or ownership of anything.

This young man got stabbed for the 5k he brought out to the prom. Probably all the money he had in the world yet he felt the need to walk around with it in his hand like 5k is a big deal. Like I was taught by my father not display your cash no matter how much or how little as in Britain we would get stabbed.

As for the question, from what I've seen, the answer is, yes.
Most white people that get money want to put it into buying a house, getting married and having kids, fixing up the car, adding onto the house, saving up for a rainy day, paying bills, buying food and clothes, etc.. Sensible things. When black people get money, they blow it on fancy name brands that cost a small mint just for a SHIRT or a PURSE, buy loads of gold chains, booze, drugs, a high dollar stereo for their car, flashy hubcaps and other lights to make their car look like a pinball machine, gold plating on their teeth, fancy hair styles, etc.. Anything to try to impress others and make it LOOK like they have shitloads of cash!! And, when their next government check comes in, they do the same thing with it!!
But, of course, NOT ALL of them are like that. Some ARE QUITE sensible. AND, SOME white people piss THEIR money away of shit they don't need.

I would say, yes. From my experience when black people have a little money, they love to flaunt it. At my old job, 2 black guys gave me $20 tips. My black classmate lived in a shitty neighborhood, but got a gold tooth grill and a fancy car with fancy rims. In Curaçao, I saw one with gold rings on every finger.

They also have this mentality, that if they make a little money, they immediately spend it.

You can tell the rich White people too, but they usually don't go walking around with sacks of cash.

There is certainly this stereotype about black people that whenever they get money they spend it. Nice cars, clothes, bling etc. And this goes all the way back to the medieval period. West Africa had some of the most gold in the world, Africa in general is loaded with resources, but as the medieval Arabs observed, the black Africans would just squander all their money. This is why their are so few castles or grand buildings in sub-saharan Africa. Every once in a while you'd get a king who didn't squander their wealth, and they'd build stuff and sometimes even make languages, but that was far and few between.

There is a huge overlap, but on average, blacks are more inclined to use their money for show in the present, and whites are more inclined to think long-term.

They do. Blacks seem to want to display money and material goods. Even greedy selfish whites don't make that much of a show of it. It's considered vulgar and low class to flash wealth around like a cartoon character.

Yes. We tend to out more social value on price tag rather than quality, or potency over quality. White people tend to focus on quality.
