Why do media and others make an unjust fuss by bad mouthing the catholic?

we hear a major fuss about catholic priests- who don't marry,- accused of pedophilia, it seems believable because they are not married, but that is just the ANNOUNCED ones when news companies made a scandal and fuss.

stats are: in fiscal year 2024, The United States Sentencing Commission reported 1,430 child sexual-abuse sentencing cases. but that year 'Only 26 allegations in 2024 about pedophilia minors' were catholic scandals. almost all, were the other 1,400! were not catholic.

but for the news the fuss and problem is not 1,400 CRIMES of pedophilia. it is a fuss to unjustly bad mouth LESS than 2% of crimes, a few catholics 26 from thousands of clergy.

ALSO frequent jokes about altar boys, to mislead it is frequent. despite rare as above.

the fuss caused people to get the wrong impression in picture.

but 99% are not catholic as above. we don't know what religion they were! except for 26 clergy scandals out of 1,400! but the FACT they sinned showed they LACK faith and are NOT christian but people try to bad mouth "all religious" as atheists and dawkins etc. wrote. or bad mouth 'christians' in picture, for a tiny part of pedophiles.

so Why do media and others make an unjust fuss by bad mouthing the catholic?

Because the church circled the wagons, protected predators and covered up as much as possible. At least the others had to face some form of justice. The church protecting predators is on par with the entire Epstein scandal. It doesn’t matter if it’s only ONE victim, protecting predators and covering up crimes is wrong. Especially when the victim is a child.
Reasonable people want justice for victims and severe punishment for predators to protect future victims. Is that too much to ask?
Florida is moving in the right direction. They recently passed legislation to impose the death penalty on predators who victimize children. The only jurisdiction to actually convict Epstein for sex crimes is in Florida, by the way. We should all be looking to Florida for the path forward, as far as I’m concerned.

A problem is Christianity and Catholicism in particular forgives sins and the Catholic church tended to relocate priests if there was an issue with the choir boys and girls. In contrast the laity is very unforgiving to pedos.

So there is very real culture clash - a repentant confession is confidential.

I would also say there is still a clash. i was brought up in a protestant church and I do genuinely feel shocked by catholic cathedrals. There is still anti-catholic sentiment inherently in place..

I'm not sure. No one thinks much about Catholics. People where I live are often Catholics but they don't really do anything that you would even know they were. You just assume they often are because it's a Catholic aria. I remember a story about the Biden FBI creeping around Catholic churches looking for far right terrorists. That was on of the weirdest things I remember about those years. It seemed bizarre like watching a parakeet because it might be tunneling under the garden and eating the roots of the tomato plants. Or keeping an eye on the dog because it might be climbing up in the fruit trees and eating the fruit. It seemed so bat shit crazy I had to read it twice to be sure what I even read.

Sensationalism. Also for reasons of political ideology. The catholic church is very traditional and doesn't align politically left or right but on issues it seems moral.

Its the same in Britain but you never hear anything criticising the current problem with muslim clerics or the gang rape problem.

Basically even though they are non believers they want to dismantle the doctrine of the Catholic Church and make it more like the church of England/Anglican/episcopalian with female and lgbtq clergy and doctrine
