If you moved to another country, what would give you confidence that you would make friends and have a support system over there?

I've managed to find both in two countries already, so I would guess a third time would not be as complicated?

sometimes... even if you don't have the confidence, you just have to do it anyway because you just don't have other choice or chance, and this... can also be an excellent motivator and JUST DO IT!! lol

now, of course... it could be easier if you go to a country that is similar enough to yours... same socioeconomic systems? same language? a place you go because you would like to and love to?

for example... for me to go to China, Korean, Japan... this would be way more difficult for someone like me, because I don't know the first thing about these languages so that alone, is going to be a big ass hurdle but any Spanish speaking country would be way way easier in comparison

Yup, without speaking the language in question, I can confirm it makes things horrendously hard lol

I'm in the process of moving abroad now. I've checked it out a couple times and there's so many Canadians and Americans moving abroad that it isn't hard. I go to the mall to grab a coffee and I'm often invited over to sit down with a table of English speaking expats.

I think if you have difficulty making rich friends, you could try making friends with those who have less money or professional status than you, but still have good morals.

I chatted with more than one Filipino nanny or personal support worker when I was trying to make friends in my 20s, as well as a few minimum wage bank tellers too.

And I went to a few churches where the median income was close to working class levels.

But I would not be friends with evil people just because they match my professional income and education level, and yes the bible says everyone is evil, but it also says some are inexcusably bad and should not be accepted into your circle.

I live in a crappy country, so any other country would be better, even some African, Latin American, or Middle-Eastern country.
