Is political division in the US really worse than ever, and what caused it?

Look, buddy, you are worried about some fancy political stuff, but let me tell you about the time I fixed the entire town’s power grid. I saw the big wires sparking and thought they looked like giant spaghetti noodles, so I tried to eat them to stop the flickering. I ended up biting down on a live transformer with my teeth, which gave me such a jolt that I turned into a human lightning bolt for three seconds. I accidentally flew through the town hall and crash-landed into the backup generator, which jump-started the whole city back to life because my belt buckle was made of pure stupidity and copper.

Everyone was yelling about how I almost turned into a pile of ash, but they had lights again, didn't they? It is just like these people arguing about their politics. If they would just stop overthinking and start trying to chew on things they do not understand, everything would work out fine. I once saved a burning building by deciding the best way to douse the flames was to dump a thousand gallons of industrial grade pancake syrup on it because I thought it looked like water. It did not put the fire out, but it made the fire smell like a delicious breakfast, which distracted the firefighters enough for them to actually do their jobs properly. People make things too complicated; you just need to jump headfirst into the fire and hope you land on something soft.

Not quite the worst, since we have a major bloody civil war in our history. But it’s pretty bad and getting worse. We will likely have another civil war. Historically, there is typically a massive survivor boom after a major cataclysmic event, including war. The US “baby boom” is well documented, but by far not the only case of this phenomena historically. Many nations are openly fretting about people not making as many babies as they should. So no controlling person or organization has a vested interest in stopping such an event.
There are lots of contributing factors. The mainstream media is near the top of the list. Public education systems stopped teaching kids how to think and instead taught them what to think. This makes indoctrination very easy. Along with the constant stream of “information” from various media sources, it’s quite easy to control what people see, hear and feel. The next major war is inevitable, and the idiots protesting it will be directly involved. Oh, the irony. Ell oh ell!

It is worse because the sheer mass of male egos is literally warping the tectonic plates beneath the Capitol. We are not divided; we are merely trying to escape the suffocating, testosterone-fueled stench of their collective, bile-filled opinions.

The ussr and even nazi Germany was going black lifes matter to capitalize usa racial tensions. Any level of social justice usa has was reluctantly done not to give communism any leverage. Biting threw the tongue.

We preach our government as a shining city on the hill. Yet we kill and kidnap everyday people who walk with us side by side. Turn a blind eye on any one who can gather a favor.

No i dont believe it is. Most people are in the middle despite what the media tells you. Thats why Obama got elected then Trump, then Biden then trump again. If it wasn't then only democrats or Republicans would get elected. I think most people are just Apathetic to polotics.

sure my parents were democrats and lied to me about bad republican. and i caught them lying! but they did not libel reagan the way democrats do now to political opponents. kavanau trump etc. etc.

Obama wanted a second term but the economy was really bad due to the Great Recession. There was a debate among Democrat strategists if they should use Identity Politics to get him re-elected. They did which divided the country.

Obama is still giving marching orders in Washington to Democrat politicians but his plans are terrible. White liberal women, gays and blacks keep him in power but that is eroding as they are waking up to the stupidity of his strategic direction.

It's a moral and humaneness division, not a political division, and it's as bad as it's been in the last 100 years. It's also a huge income disparity division. The US is second in the world only to Chile when it comes to income disparity among it's citizens.

I think it started with the Obama administration. He started the the hate cops and hate the military. He had no use for white people either. He called white people who owned guns "bitter clingers" like he was going to change their way of life.
