So, I couldn’t find anything that supported Dr Suess saying that.
I understand it’s a meme, but yeah not entirely accurate (not to say I don’t agree with the sentiment).

Will say this, Dr Seuss did criticize ‘America First’ connecting the movement back to Nazis and Fascists, also Communists because those political cartoons are from 1930s to 40s era America which might stir political discourse today, if more people found out and read the collection for themselves.

Also Dr Seuss saw racism and discrimination in general, as concepts to put one on top over another which businessmen take advantage of to enrich themselves which escalates division as they make a profit. At the end, they figure out that at the end of the day they are the same. The message being underneath our spots, stripes, triangles we are still people and those willing to divide us and sell us our pride are businessmen.

Do I even need to mention The Lorax literally being about criticizing the corporations dismantling the environment and killing life till there’s nothing left for a quick buck (supplying) from consumers (demanding) which I’d say is a critique of Capitalism, but who knows for sure. If you dig deeper could also show corporations first motive is profit and don’t care about the well being of anything which is why we have regulations and restrictive laws to keep them from going too far in the first place which isn’t radical however dare I say a necessity.
I’d say all those ring true since I’m a Democratic Socialist and I want all those things, also more.

No, of course it's satire. But it's funny. Republicans would call all of those things (and anything else that helps people) socialism. Here's a real quote:

"Socialism is a scare word they have hurled at every advance the people have made in the last 20 years.

Socialism is what they called public power. Socialism is what they called social security.

Socialism is what they called farm price supports.

Socialism is what they called bank deposit insurance.

Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations.

Socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people.

When the Republican candidate inscribes the slogan "Down With Socialism" on the banner of his "great crusade," that is really not what he means at all.

What he really means is "Down with Progress--down with Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal," and "down with Harry Truman's fair Deal." That's all he means."
President Harry's Truman's remarks in Syracuse, New York on October 10, 1952.

Nope. Liking social programs doesn't make one socialist. Liking government services we pay for to actually work, doesn't make one socialist. That's like saying a Democrat who owns a gun is now a right wing because 2A is a right wing policy.

"Do you want your water clean" Massive joke as socialist societies often fail to provide food for their people. If you want clean water, you can collect it yourself or buy it from a shop you lazy cunt.

"Do you like your forests green" Yeah I love the preservation of England's privately owned forests. The forests that have been preserved for so long because they belonged to somebody and you couldn't legally just poach all the animals from the land. Private land owners preserve forests whereas governments will suddenly decide to drop their eco agenda and cut down a forest to house our population growth (which is currently coming entirely from immigration. It's just wonderful what you boomers are doing to us isn't it?)

"Do you like the parks you've seen?" Guess what? All the government owned parks are neglected, disgusting & full of rubbish. The private parks owned by the aristocracy (I'm in England) are far better preserved and still open to the public.

"Want your medicine safe to take?" We really need to stop people blindly trusting the academic point of view from healthcare to begin with. That's coming more from government agenda. Also every capitalist society still has regulations because they still have governments. If your company causes a healthcare crisis then your company is going to be sued into oblivion unlike public healthcare which can afford to have a bad reputation & still receive funding.

"Food that's safe to cook and bake". It's not an issue in Europe. Only Americans have a problem with this as they follow their food with shite. It's a cultural problem that can be fixed with very simple regulation. Regulations do not make a country socialist otherwise you're arguing that every governing body that's existed is socialist.
"Your car to stop when you hit the breaks" all of the best manufactured vehicles have been from capitalist societies where the very credibility of the company depends on the car's performance and a constant risk of getting sued if they malfunction.
It's also funny to say as a socialist country, East Germany produced the most infamous & terrible car ever that was industry standard. Everybody had to out up with these with lack of choice. It was known as the Trebant. It had no fuel pump, no fuel gauge, a smoky underpowered engine, many panels were made of duroplast instead of steel, no radiator, no emission control (b-but what about muh environment 😭) and you sometimes had to wait up to 10-13 years to purchase one.
The only decent socialist vehicle to exist was the National Socialist Volkswagen but most Socialists hate National Socialism because they have no testosterone.

"Want your kids in school today?" So they can be put in a hostile government environment & brainwashed to think like cattle? They even have old factory bells still used in school to this day.
No thanks. Fuck your commie school system. Private schools are based.
If you can't afford private school well... Is there actually anything more beautiful then seeing a mother homeschooling her own children?
The school system was made as a government agenda to destroy local ethnic languages in Eastern Germany & instill the governments militant agenda into the Prussian people.
Early schooling in America was a Christian institution used to eradicate the oral culture of Native Americans in order to civilise the savages. So schooling was used to force integration & the destruction of culture. This is why the Celtic Breton language is now going extinct in France. Is this really what you Socialists want?

"Or well made roads to drive away" absolutely a fucking joke. 40% of England's economy is public, with 60% being private. We're almost a Socialist country and yet everyone around here is always complaining about potholes and the poor conditions of the roads.
The few private roads we have look very well maintained.

"Or fire trucks and cops to save the day" Yeah I just love the police who breathe down my ethnic communities neck (the English) because the police see it as their job to handle our community. That's why we're always getting censored & having our freedom of speech violated meanwhilst Muslims are running known & established crime organisations across the country. The police refuse to deal with the trafficking gangs because they don't want to disturb the peace (in other words our police are cowards who only target you when they don't expect any resistance).
At this point I'd actually rather the government employees semi-private companies to police the communities for us. If each postcode or village had its own private sheriff (England used to have sheriffs) and his finances were tied to what his community pays him, imagine how much less crime there'd be.
It would also provide a job to people like me, who seek to work & provide for myself meanwhilst desiring a combative warrior lifestyle.
Currently the only way to become a privately hired fighter is to join a government organisation like the military or police, then leave & later join a mercenary company in some 3rd world country.

I don't think many of these items are actually socialist.

Australia could be said to have had a more socialist past and still has to a degree.

With a small population, in a vast country with a limited capital market, it never made sense to have multiple railway companies and multiple electricity companies running power lines down each street. At the same it was recognized that rural people needed the same services as city people did.

For example the Royal Flying Doctor, will fly out to the outback if some one is critically injured and if it can't be treated on the spot, then fly the patient to a city hospital. With a subscription all for free. This was started by a public appeal and is still funded to a large degree by public donations because we don't want people to die unnecessarily just because they live in remote Australia.

A lot of infrastructure was created as co-operatives in a socialist/capitalist combo. Pick which it is.

Nowadays a lot as has been converted from gov't enterprises and co-ops to private companies and of course the service HAS IMPROVED DRAMATICALLY. No doubt private enterprise delivers the service better.

So some stuff is good to do in a socialist way in the beginning and convert to capitalism when it is economic to do so.

The Aral Sea is an ecological disaster where decades of heavy pesticide and herbicide use for cotton farming were left exposed on the dried-up seabed. Whipped into toxic dust storms, these chemicals and salts blow across Central Asia, causing severe public health crises.

The shrinking of the Aral Sea—once the fourth-largest lake in the world—has transformed the region into a toxic wasteland. The crisis encompasses several major hazards and impacts:

      The Toxic Cocktail:
As the water retreated, the seabed dried, leaving behind massive deposits of sodium chloride, sodium sulfate, magnesium chloride, and toxic agrochemicals like DDT. Airborne Poison: Winds whip these residual chemicals into severe dust storms. These toxic plumes travel up to 1,000 kilometers away, raining contaminants on surrounding settlements, crops, and even glaciers.

      Human Health Crisis:
Local populations—especially in the Karakalpakstan region of Uzbekistan—suffer from alarmingly high rates of respiratory illnesses, tuberculosis, liver and kidney damage, and cancers (especially throat and esophageal).

      Child Mortality & Birth Defects:
Due to poor drinking water and airborne toxicity, child and infant mortality rates are exceptionally high, and the region has seen increased rates of birth defects and genetic abnormalities.

Since the 2000s, localized rehabilitation efforts (such as the construction of the Kokaral Dam) have helped partially restore the North Aral Sea. However, the southern desiccated zones remain a heavily contaminated environmental hazard.

Russia's radioactive water issues primarily stem from Cold War-era dumping by the Soviet Union. The primary sites include:

      Lake Karachay:
Located at the Mayak nuclear facility in the southern Ural mountains, this body of water was used as a dumping site for high-level liquid radioactive waste starting in the 1950s. It became so severely contaminated that it was later filled with concrete and rock to prevent the spread of radioactive dust, and it remains one of the most polluted spots on Earth.

      The Techa River:
Flowing from the Mayak complex, this river was polluted when millions of cubic meters of radioactive wastewater were discharged into it between 1949 and 1956. While the highest discharges have ceased, localized contamination and health risks persist for nearby communities.

      The Kara Sea:
The Soviet military scuttled 19 vessels, 14 nuclear reactors, and thousands of containers holding radioactive waste—including spent nuclear fuel—in the Arctic's Kara Sea. This poses a long-term risk of seawater corrosion and leakage.

      Zheleznogorsk:
In eastern Russia, the state-run nuclear industry still disposes of liquid radioactive waste by actively injecting it into deep underground geological horizons, a practice that environmental groups worry may eventually migrate into regional aquifers.

Yiu mean the first socialist state. Remember Lenin and marx were socialists. You remind me of all those high minded Cambridge socialists that spied for the soviet union, then when they defected to Russia and ended up living in a two room grey concrete housing block and had to live in the misery of a socialist like the rest of eastern Europe they regretted it for decades after.

Stalin another socialist. Vladimir Lenin did rule Russia. He led the Bolshevik Revolution in October 1917, subsequently serving as the first head of government (Chairman of the Council of People's Commissars) of Soviet Russia and later the Soviet Union until his death in 1924.

Vladimir Lenin was a revolutionary socialist and the founder of the Bolshevik party, which led the 1917 October Revolution in Russia. He was a devout Marxist who believed the working class must overthrow capitalism and establish a socialist state as a transitional phase toward a classless, socialist society.

Stalin was a devoted socialist and a follower of Vladimir Lenin who led the Soviet Union from 1929 to 1953. He championed the theory of "Socialism in One Country," which focused on building a centralized, state-controlled industrial base.

Socialist collectivisation is an agricultural policy where individual landholdings and labour are integrated into state-controlled, collective operations (like the Soviet kolkhozy). First pioneered in the Soviet Union in the late 1920s and early 1930s, it aimed to centralise food production to fund rapid industrialisation.

      1. Core MechanicsConsolidation: Small, private peasant farms were merged into massive agricultural cooperatives or state-owned farms. State Quotas: Farmers were required to surrender a large percentage of their produce to the government at state-imposed prices. Mechanisation: Centralised "Motor Tractor Stations" were established to provide communal access to heavy machinery like tractors and harvesters.

      2. Primary GoalsIndustrial Funding: Maximise agricultural output and state control to feed the growing urban workforce and supply raw materials for factories. Ideological Alignment: Eliminate private property ownership and transition to a fully socialist agrarian system. Class Elimination: Dispossess and suppress wealthier peasant classes (the kulaks) who were viewed as opponents to the socialist state.

      3. Historical Impact and LegacyResistance: Peasants strongly resisted giving up their land, often by slaughtering livestock and burning crops. Humanitarian Catastrophe: The combination of forced quotas, resistance, and the liquidation of the kulaks directly contributed to catastrophic, state-induced famines—most notably in Ukraine (the Holodomor) and Kazakhstan. Long-term Production: While it established a firm socialist economic base and later fed large populations, collective farming systems frequently suffered from inefficiency and low productivity in the long term.

Your right. Litteral rust buckets held together with scotch tape. You talk to any guy that had a car in the 50s-90s and they are generally have a lot of knowledge about fixing and maintaining cars, why? Because they had to be on a cold morning or theyd never get to work. Spent their whole time under their car greasing nipples, changing spark plugs etc.

WOW! Two so very important things to be proud of. First of all tell me exactly what President Obama did to make a swamp (as you called it) out of the reflecting pool , which I would you never even heard of before this moron trump brought it up, and yes maybe he did have a statue of CC reinstalled in Boston or Washington but not in the Italian neighborhoods of US. Lets talk about more important things like this great deal he just thinks, hopes we made with Iran which is less meaningful for us than the Obama one he scrapped 1st term. Come on big boy tell me more about your ass sucking hero and king asshole loser. Did you take a present and go to fuckfaces birthday party yesterday? I wanted to send him a bottle of aged stale piss, but my husband wouldn't let me. said it wasn't worth the postage.

My daughter was there 5 years ago with her senior class and I just asked her. She said it was an Aqua color and looked great and the only smell was that of chlorine. That was long after President Obama had left office a man your king wouldn't make a good pimple on his ass

No it doesn't ring true. Theodor Seuss Geisel wrote children's books. Good, non-political educational books for young children.

This is an attempt to put things that everyone wants into a bucket that has negative connotations (socialism). It's a bucket list of things that most people equate to a better community.

    What are the author's motivations?

lol "newly discovered song". That's fake news.

Shhhh... don't try and make them think. It could trigger the zombie apocalypse or something. Maybe they could be made to watch Prof. Richard Wolff videos or something.

In my new world, a leader will only be able to lead or become an MP if he can do 10 clean pullups. No cheaty bouncy shit.

That should purge us of socialists, femi-men and the effete for good.

    It doesn't ring at all.

These are things that everyone wants, regardless of their politics, religion, race, or any other thing.

      How about the text?

You should maybe have posted that text in your question, or ask a new question to get more people to answer., I answered to share that I don’t think the claim that the text in the image is a song by Seuss rings true, not to discuss other texts.
