My only criticism of Trumps handling of the war is his endless micromanagement. He clearly obsessed over a deal and doesn't allow the military to do what needs to be done. He also uses social media like a child and it destroys his credibility. Sadly, his obsession with diplomacy has extended this conflict out. It might have been over by now if he allowed all targets to be hit.

I doubt a "forever war" is possible. It's not a nation building conflict like those in the past. The issue is Trumps obsession with a deal. He even admitted himself they didn't strike all the targets. This war will end with Iran's defeat regardless. Their military is shattered, most of the people despise the regime, the economy is collapsing, the blockade has cut of their income.

You can't win a war without boots on the ground. Nothing will change in Iran by bombing them back to the stone age and Americans should know that by now. The US has enough experience bombing Middle Eastern countries to know that bombing alone doesn't work there. Common sense would lead you to think that Iran needs a deal but Iran doesn't have any and they won't sign any deal with the US unless their ridiculous demands are met and they are willing to sacrifice their people to do so. You can't negotiate a fair deal when one side is completely crazy.

@DryGermanGuy Iranian state claims have already been repeatedly debunked. Months ago they claimed the US agreed to remove its troops from the region among many other things. During the combat they also claimed lots of nonsense. I don't take it seriously. It's largely for internal consumption due to the lack of support from their people. Only liberals in the west buy into it because they desperately want Trump to fail. If the man cured cancer they'd be upset

Only a total moron would believe that Iran is going to stop funding Yemen, Hezbollah, etc. Every state in that region fights battles by funding proxy groups. There are 400 different factions running around that landscape all with their own agenda. The US and colonial Europeans made sure of that.
