I do believe that political division is so severe in the US that both sides can't even agree on basics. It's become a dangerous reality where a single story can be told completely differently depending upon your stated political allegiance. It also doesn't help that Trump has become such a divisive figure, even on a global scale. People just pick a side and often facts are secondary, if acknowledged at all. We see this reality with many issues.
