I am more inclined to celebrate the creation than a creator. And I am more inclined to celebrate the solstice as the the solar year than the calendar new year.

It is somewhat annoying to me the new year calendar is off because of Pope Gregory cancelling 10 days in 1582. The day after Oct 4 1582 was Oct 15 1582. But it is essentially a pagan celebration.
