I came across this graphic today that shows how different countries are perceived by people living elsewhere. It's pretty clear why most of the countries with a negative score are at the bottom, they're a bit dodgy. But is the USA's negative rating justified?

Just to be fair there is one good thing about America and it will come back to be in the way that it was actually better than the way it was it's the people of America that make America great the people that represent America with their big mouths and they're bully attitudes is what makes America this week and stupid

Of course it depends on who you ask and in which country, but generally I think this is true.
If I'd ask anyone here about Iraq, most simply don't have an opinion on it. It's a country that is far away and doesn't affect us in any way. No one wants to really go there for various reasons, but Iraq also doesn't do anything that makes us hate it.
If you ask about the US, most people will have a strong opinion because in some way or another, it affects our daily lives. You wake up every day just to read another stupid thing Trump said or did that you will feel in your wallet or gets you mad. US culture is dominant in media and the political madness and culture war that's going on there are also swapping over here. Those are just the most obvious issues.
There are many reasons why people don't have a high opinion of the US. A lot of other supposedly "worse" countries are just not existent or relevant in people's daily lives.
Whomever made the graph seems to think so and as a US citizen it does not surprise me as our current Hitler like regime of liars, criminals, thugs, and totally incompetent morons continue to make asses out of themselves and those of us who also hate these fucking bastards.
I'd say it's based on current perceptions , which are probably not quite reasonable..
But no doubt you'll get some flag waving " we don't give a shit " - and that's a big part of the problem.

It's not reasonable however is reality , lots good about , shtloads bad about it ( US Open golf jerring their own guy.. barracking ) , 50 countries jammed into 1 is always going to make some problems.
Just revisiting that list Italy and Spain at +30 plus ! Now , I 100 % get that they are beautiful no doubt , but economic basket cases , as is France , so if comparing life time opportunity ( I'm not sure of the exact question ) then that's pretty crazy , coz you can't argue about opportunities in USA encouragement of free enterprise , lowest capital gains tax.. makes the US rating pretty crazy.. Now sure there are negatives also , better chance of being shot for example..

I’m more surprised by the low score of Lebanon. Yet another country that has never once waged war with any neighbor and have spent the past 50 years just defending itself from endless aggression WHILE remaining the pinnacle of tourism in the middle east.

First, polls are easily manipulated. Hillary was supposed to win hands down if you recall which was all based on BS polls.
Second, note which country is dead last, Israel. This is all about hate for Israel and the war in Gaza. The Palestinians are getting annihilated by the people they would like to commit genocide on, the Israelis. The US is Israels close ally and makes it possible for them to survive with weapons, money and being a bodyguard. This poll blames Israel and the US which is its message.
The US is always in the news due to being the most powerful and influential nation on the planet. Lots of divisions exist in the US that expand into the world. It's not justified, but just how things are. Do you believe the British Empire had a positive image, or Rome? Doubtful.
Just shows you how warped those perceptions are, if you got forced to live in US or Russia the choice would be obvious also India? Same for many of those countries somehow deemed better. But without the weight of that actually happening everyone can be dishonest about how bad US is. So this list is more an indicator of intentional dishonesty.
Who cares? America doesn't need to be popular. America is powerful. It is other countries that must impress America. Those who need from others, need prestige to impress them and get in their good graces. Those who have, don't need to impress anyone.
It's also clear that whoever made the info-graphic is mentally retarded. They claim "The U. S. is the only major Western Democracy with a negative net perception" when America is not even a Democracy. America is a Constitutional Federal Republic. Socialist are so fucking dumb.
1. The survey doesn't say who or where they surveyed people and what groups of people. Surveys like that are often skewed to favor whatever opinion is wanted as a result, kind of like when they surveyed over 70% democrats to determine polls before Trump's election vs Hillary. intentionally deceptive.

What I do find hilarious is that in the interests of making America strong, Trump has destroyed the alliances that made America strong. With allies, America had maybe 2/3 of the world's military throw weight. Going it alone they have 1/3.

The U. S. A. is less popular than Iraq and Russia because Iraq and Russia don't have child-abusing mentally ill criminals as presidents, and they don't attack other countries without provocation, and they don't threaten the leaders of other countries.
Russia's literally in a war with Ukraine Putin started without provocation, but nobody expects more of that country. People had higher expectations of the US.
Since the Communist News Network (CNN) is one of if not the only corporate news agencies we export from the US, it's no wonder the rest of the world thinks so poorly of the US. CNN hates the US being its own sovereign nation.
And then you have all these people coming in for the world cup and watched the hatred melt away as they realized how drunk with power their own government truly is.
That score is solely based on Trump alone and probably accurate today. The US is the only country on that list that threatens their closest allies with military action.
I think it's basically about the respective 'government agendas'. Even in 'America' we can find nice people. Not so much in Florida, but further North (or West). So: yes, really!
